Vouchers would GREATLY improve the education system. I'd be able to send my kids to the Christians school in my city where they would learn values and get a superior education. Crappy schools would run out of parents willing to send their children there (now that they have a CHOICE), and we could hold crappy schools and crappy teachers accountable.

No I know lefties hate accountability so they will always be against vouchers - but I sure would like my kids to have the opportunity to take advanced classes that do more than just increase the amount of homework they're assigned!

The public schools get stuck with all the slow learners and underachievers. If we allowed vouchers for everyone, the public schools would be stuck with all the dummies and slow learners and the private schools would have all the good students. That is not an answer or good solution to the problem.

That is EXACTLY what you just suggested... putting the lesser students in schools more appropriate to their abilities...

...and you are missing the point. It would force all schools to succeed in teaching or fail as businesses. There would be competition in the education market and that ALONE would ensure a better product for EVERYONE!!!

Here is SW Ohio. one of the top school districts in the state is a public school system
The public system my kids attended is rated excellent by the state.
The voucher system schools have already been chastised for mis use of funds and low performing students on the acihievment tests.

There is only one way to fix the education problems in America. And that is for the PARENT(S) to send to the school system a kid that is willing and able to learn. If it is not stressed by the parents that their kids are in school for one reason only and that is to become educated, then there is nothing to be done to really fix this broad based problem.

It ain't the money, the unions or the teachers, it is on the parents to send to the school a kid that is there to be educated.

If that ain't happening, it won't matter what else is done. Kinda like the ole horse, you can lead them to water but..........

An end to school shootings? Make it illegal for a man under 30 to have a weapon. If you sell a weapon to a man under 30, go directly to jail. If you sell ammo to a man under 30, go directly to jail.
