The Democrats believe what simply isn't true because the highest levels (ie Obama, Pelosi, and Reid) spread pure propaganda. They will spin all kinds of absurd stories regarding the "utopian" healthcare systems of places like Canada and England. And yet people from around the world come to the U.S. for healthcare - including from places like Canada and England.

Until the left can find some leaders with an ounce of integrity, their lies will continue to send this nation spiraling down....

The left won't until they crawl so far out onto the limb, the limb breaks from their weight, and they crash to the ground. But Comrade Barack, in his determined push to strip American's firearms from their hands, is seeking to make sure that no interloper (The Republicans) can push the Democrats out of the way and seize the reins of power while the Democrats pick themselves up off the ground after the crash, shake the cobwebs out of their heads and dust themselves off and resume their ruling role.
The reason the left is so insistent on Government control of healthcare is the Governments gaining access to all that money that previously flowed through the insurance companies hands and into the shareholders pockets. Think of all the good Comrade Barack and his Democratic colleaugues could do having absolute control of those funds, so many more Solyndras and Fiskers to fund, so many more Viagra tablets to purchase for their UAW supporters.
Anyone remember the Social Security Lockbox, by the way?

haha! I LOVE it!

The Canadian health care system is not administered by the federal government, but by individual provinces, of which Canada has ten.

From personal experience, I know that it sucks in Ontario, but it is excellent in Manitoba.

For the terminally ignorant, (those Americans who visit Canada in July with skis tacked to the roof of their station wagon) Ontario and Manitoba are two of the ten Canadian provinces, kind of like Iowa and California are two of the 50 American states.

Canada's health care system is a group of socialized health insurance plans that provides coverage to all Canadian citizens. It is publicly funded and administered on a provincial or territorial basis, within guidelines set by the federal government.

Of the Canadian friends/associates I have, the general gist I get is "it is a great system as long as you don't get sick"

One comes to term with many things in life. The longer the life is the more one comes to term with.

So, I have come to term with my mortality. I realize that no matter where I live, no matter what health care system I am under, I will not live forever. All I want is let me live the rest of my life pain free, and at age 74, I am happy to say that the health care system in Manitoba, where I live now, is fulfilling that simple wish.

So, while I take part in the discussions about Obamacare, I could not care less what the final outcome of that lie-ridden system is going to be.

Exactly if it does not affect you why should you care.

You could not be more wrong.

Just the other day I visited my cardiologist. Instead of the old bearded male doctor, I was examined by a young female intern, who, looking at my medical history said: Rheumatic arthritis, stomach problems, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, COPD, shortness of breath, arterial fibrillation, heart attack, two stents and enlarged prostate, you are a wreck.

To which I replied, yes, but a walking wreck, and it beats the alternative.

If you have nothing positive to say about the Canadian (at least the Manitoban) health care system, don't say anything, because it will only reveal your ignorance.

I dared to be sick and I am looked after sufficiently and caringly.

Tone down the American superiority a bit, AND LEARN FACTS.

How much more should I care about the so-called "less fortunate"? I have been involved with volunteer work for the less fortunate since 1993.

I care.

While Obama care isn't the answer, the current system needed to be reworked so costs aren't so high. Perhaps less profits for big drug companies. Hit em in the pocketbook yet nobody will step up. Legalized robbery those corporations are.

I didn't offer an opinion to be right or wrong

the problems could have been fixed without destroying the entire system.

1. limit drug patents to 3 years
2. allow interstate insurance competition
3. tort reform, cap malpractice settlements
4. provide only life saving medical care to illegals, stabilize them then send them home
5. loser pays in all lawsuits, including class action suits
6. treat hospitals like public utilities and other monopolies
