An ongoing and current problem. There are now more US farmers over the age of 75 than there are under the age of 35. Right now an estimate for the median income of a US farmer for 2025 is negative $328. Most small individually owned US farmers are reliant on an income outside of the farm. They estimate that less than 5% of farmers will be profitable this year. We need policy to address this.https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/beth-ford-a-storm-is-gathering-in-american-agriculture/ar-AA1KRS9z?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=HCTS&cvid=68a62a90298d483a85bdefca2f59618b&ei=155

I had an uncle who has passed, but they used to have about a 40 acre farm.
He raised a few cows and had some chickens.
But he had a one acre plot that he used for growing vegetables.
I think that the garden could feed about ten people.
Whenever we would visit them we would come back with a trunk load of vegetables.
Fresh picked vegetables taste much better than the kind that we get at the grocery stores.
Yea, a one acre garden is more than enough to feed a family.

Granddad leased his grazing land to his brother (full-time farmer) and raised what people wanted at the time, fresh and canned garden vegetables and fruits, eggs, and of all things, slaughter rabbits.

He had some hogs and a couple of cows to slaughter every year.

He had a real smoke house and would cure the hog meat and sell some of the country hams to a Inn the swells stayed at around Christmas time. The bacon he cured was to die for as was his scrapple.

He worked at the FMC Rayon plant full time and made very good money just keeping the workers who lived in town there supplied.

When I was about 5 years old, I helped my mom plant some potatoes. Yay! Plant a tater and get a tater!!!!

Couple days later, I shucked the wrappers off a few caramels I stole from my moms bedside table and planted them near the taters.

What a ripoff!

Yet you loons criticize Trump helping farmers out.
