The parent of this nine-year old wanted to press charges against the district. The teacher was investigated and has resigned.

Thoughts:

1. The teacher did not need to tackle the kid. He acted out of frustration.

2. The teacher shouldn't have talked to the kid so long. Remove one kid or the other, de-escalate.

3. I have been mocked for being "afraid of 6 yo". Look at the size of that 9 year old compared to the grown man. Now consider that most elementary teachers are women. I have a special needs student in kindergarten--a tank of a kid--who weighs more than me. Fact.

4. I hear screaming like this every day. Every day something like this happens, but without the tackle at the end.

5. I really hope the death of Woke will include a special needs school in every town. Our schools are no longer academic institutions. They are day treatment centers.

There are mostly great things that happen every day.

Get rid of 10% of the students and send them to Sue's special needs school.
