A Call to Arms for Europe: Americans are not alone in viewing Trump as a Traitor

One fact I’m in agreement with us that Ronald Reagan wouldn’t recognize today’s Republican Party.
While that may be true, Kennedy wouldn't recognize today's Democratic party. Both have moved on for better or for worse.

Wrong yet again...

Some Americans, myself included have long viewed Trump as a Traitor to American values, and more. We are not alone.

A Call to Arms for Europe

This viral speech brutally captures how U.S. allies see Trump’s America
That view of Donald Trump’s America was brutally encapsulated last week by a centrist French senator named Claude Malhuret, who noted that until now, “never in history has a U.S. president capitulated to the enemy.” In a speech at the French Senate assessing Trump’s alignment with the Kremlin, turn against Ukraine and the implications for Europe, he said: “We were at war with a dictator. Now we are fighting a dictator backed by a traitor.”
Wow! This is unprecedented.

‘Trump’s message is that being his ally serves no purpose, because he will not defend you.’
Europe is at a crucial juncture of its history. The American shield is slipping away, Ukraine risks being abandoned, and Russia is being strengthened. Washington has become the court of Nero: an incendiary emperor, submissive courtiers, and a buffoon on ketamine tasked with purging the civil service.
This is a tragedy for the free world, but it’s first and foremost a tragedy for the United States. [President Donald] Trump’s message is that being his ally serves no purpose, because he will not defend you, he will impose more tariffs on you than on his enemies, and he will threaten to seize your territories, while supporting the dictators who invade you.
The king of the deal is showing that the art of the deal is lying prostrate. He thinks he will intimidate China by capitulating to Russian President Vladimir Putin, but China’s President Xi Jinping, faced with such wreckage, is undoubtedly accelerating his plans to invade Taiwan.

This is a warning shot across the bow of the American Polity. Any damage done will be very difficult to repair. It could take a decade r more after Trump leaves office to correct what many of us see as an American retreat.

note:
noun: polity; plural noun: polities

  1. a form or process of civil government or constitution.
    "the civic humanist's polity"
    • an organized society; a state as a political entity.
"the period in which West Germany was a distinct polity"

Pres.Trump is awesome because he puts America first.
I could care less what other leaders think about anything.

That’s the kind of thing that leads to world wars. What would the 20th Century have been like, if we hadn’t come late to the party? Since WW2 we’ve been engaged and the only war in Europe involved the break up of Yugoslavia. That’s 70 years of stability vs constant wars in the previous centuries. Trump is throwing that all away for no good reason and inviting WW3.

You don't care. And when you do it will just be another disappointment for you.

People like you are never ever onboard with anything but the negative.

"Oh the horror! The horror."
More on the topic at hand:

Over the course of nearly a century, very few countries have accumulated a mother lode of soft power as formidable as that of the United States. But right now, Trump, with important assists from Vice President JD Vance and Elon Musk, has mounted an attack as devastating to our reputational well-being as the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, were to our physical security.

During his first term, Trump did terrific damage to the United States’ global image. In spring 2018, just over a year into his presidency, favorable views of America had dropped, and in many cases plummeted, in 22 of 25 major countries surveyed by the Pew Research Center. The poll registered double-digit declines in Mexico, the Netherlands, Germany, Canada, Sweden, France, Italy, Indonesia, Brazil, and Spain, Great Britain and Argentina.

Wrong yet again...

LOL. Your post doesn't show I'm wrong. Only that you don't understand the change.

Okay, here we go...

He said he had given voice to an unease in the United States about Trump's behaviour that is felt on both sides of the political divide.

"Judging by the very, very, very many messages I have received since then, I think that Americans today feel that their politicians are unable to stand up to Trump."

"The Republicans, of course, are afraid of reprisals and so are saying nothing, even those who disagree with him. And the Democrats are still reeling from their presidential defeat and the party is not yet in working order."

"For my part, many of the messages I received asked: 'How come it has to be a French politician who says this, when no-one there is saying it?'" he said.

He added that even people who voted for Trump were starting to believe "it is starting badly and, above all, that the world order is being called into question".
