Nope, not true. Yes, Stalin did enter into a peace treaty with Hitler in 1940 and they shamefully carved up Poland among themselves. But Stalingrad ended in a victory for the Russians and Stalin would in no way offer Hitler any peace terms.

After Germany invaded Russia, whatever illusions Stalin may have had about Hitler were all gone. After Stalingrad, Russia knew that they could beat Germany and Stalin was out for blood.
