U.S. Air Force A-10s in maritime attack role are hunting small Iranian fast attack boats that could threaten shipping or naval forces in the Strait of Hormuz.

The U.S. Air Force A-10 Thundebolt II jets supporting operation Epic Fury have started flying a different type of mission. As explained by General Dan Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, during the Press Briefing at the Pentagon on Mar. 19, 2026, the Warthogs are now engaged across the southern flank, targeting fast attack watercraft in the Strait of Hormuz.

I hope we get some sweet 8k video of it all.

If we don't see footage of an A-10 sawing a Iranian "fast boat" in half during a gun run I'm going to be very disappointed.

Mavericks are divine but a gun run is just fine. ;)

That looks like a fun assignment.

One of the most popular warplanes ever built. Glad to see them back in action.

As war hero and cowboy wannabe Ron Reagan found out, they`ll just blow an American airliner full of passengers out of the sky or hijack one and fly it into a skyscraper. Suicidal hijackers just don`t give a damn about our overpriced military hardware.

That Avenger gattling gun in the nose weighs two tons altogether and when it fires its 30mm rounds with depleted uranium cores, the kick from the gun is so strong that they had to mount it offset from the centerline of the jet to balance it otherwise firing it the recoil would have knocked the plane off course!

Apparently Iran's totally obliterated air defenses hit a 100+ million dollar ''invisible'' F-35 with a cheap 2010 model surface-to-air missile (S-67). Of course, that's conjecture regarding the specific missile.

That's a first for the F-35.

Mainstream media doesn't seem to be touching the story with a ten foot pole.

Oh hell yeah! A-10s back on the job!! :113:

Is that X-Box footage or Nintendo?

No idea.

US Central Command has acknowledged the incident, however, and states that the ''incident is under investigation” per US Central Command spokesperson Capt. Tim Hawkins.

Apparently the aircraft was able to perform an emergency landing while “flying a combat mission over Iran” and that the pilot is said to be in ''stable'' condition. Again, that from the US Central Command spokesperson

Oh, I don't doubt that someone might have got lucky and hit one. . . but to claim that is actual footage of the "hit?"

I'm calling bullshit.

Could be. Hard to say anymore.

Interesting that it cut off immediately...

LOL....That clip is a few years old. It was from some video game.

Is it? It's what was on the twitters.

As was mentioned, it's hard to say anymore.

Central Command, while they are acknowledging an incident, is neither confirming or denying that it was hit by Iran. Though it does state that the aircraft was flying a combat mission over Iran.

I highly doubt we'll ever get the full truth of the matter.
