It was equivalent to a very bad flu to start, now it's about around a bad flu.

The problem was it did seem to be something with a 1%-3% mortality rate, and we didn't have enough data to see if that was in the whole population, or just parts of it.

The initial response was warranted, for the first month or so. After that when it was found to be mostly dangerous to the old and infirm, the healthy should have been allowed to go back to normal to build up herd immunity as well as attenuation of the virus.
