80 yrs ! when I was a kid ww2 veterans were a common sight .. the youngest still around are in their late 90s ..

I lived three blocks from the city square. Lots of military parades there after the wars. They petered out though by the early 1950's. The new Korean war likely had something to do with that. Haven't had military parades since. Why celebrate defeat.
