He put on a total clinic for 4 days. The last round, the other players were basically giving up and playing for second. He didn't just hit more fairways, greens and birdies than anyone else. When he missed he left himself in a decent spot. That is always the plan for a touring pro but it is rare that you see someone do it. And he was out driving the younger guys in his group consistently. If he can keep that form, he may be notching his second major this year. Congrats to the "old man"!

wasn't he one of the complainers at the Ryder
Just another Pommie like Tommy that comes over and plays on our tour. And we wonder why we can't win Ryders on our own soll
Sorry Mike
Not a big fan of foreigners competing on our tour Bernard Montgomery said American soldiers were better soldiers under his leadership.
America almost pulled out of the war over that one

I remember Rory losing it at the Ryder Cup, not Rose. What did he say? The Ryder Cup has gotten out of hand anyway. Not a good reason to criticize a golfer from either team IMO.

I admire skill at the highest level and what Justin Rose did at age 45 was historic level golf. That's what's cool about golf, everyone gets 14 clubs and the same course. Let's see what you can do. I don't care where you come from. If you are great you are great.

Why do American golfers, You know died in the wool American golfers bred and born here cuz they went and played on the LIV have to pay penance to come back to the PGA tour.
European golfers play all over the world and they don't have to pay a dime to play on the PGA tour in America

That's another discussion that has nothing to do with what Justin Rose did at Torrey Pines this week.

yes and no. He's a pommie competing on our tour
He get 2 million, and Bruce Koepka had to pay 5 million
I don't know what pommie means. Maybe you don't remember but Jay Monahan freaked out when some of the top players left to play the LIV tour. He and the PGA leadership thought LIV could potentially bring down the PGA so they imposed huge penalties on the players who left. Good to see Brooks is back, $5 million is drop in the bucket to what the Saudis paid him to play LIV.

I caught the end of the first 2 rounds and all of the weekend rounds. I love it when the 40-somethings do well. I was pulling for a better Joel Dahmen finish. Got in to the tournament as an alternate and made the most of the opportunity.

The problem is that your boys never win on the battle field .

You have created the impression that you are mostly mouth and little else .

Others no longer take you seriously .

Agreed. PGA golfers are so young and strong now it amazed me that Rose not only blew them away by 7 shots he was out driving them!

Joel Dahmen played his way into the Cognizant Claasic later this month. Brooks Koepka committed to that tournament after he was reinstated.

Dahmen seems like a good guy who has done well but only has one win. It would be good to see him get another one while he's playing well.
