3,000 detainees refuse food to mark Prisoners' Day Published yesterday (updated) 18/04/2013 09:57. "RAMALLAH (AFP) -- Some 3,000 Palestinians in Israeli jails on Wednesday refused breakfast as part of a one-day hunger strike to mark Prisoners' Day, an Israeli prison official said. Palestinians are attending marches and rallies as a show of solidarity with prisoners from the West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza held in Israeli jails, whose numbers reach almost 5,000.In the West Bank, around 600 relatives of prisoners gathered for a sit-in in the rain at Arafat Square in central Ramallah after which some of them were planning to march towards the nearby military prison at Ofer. Another rally was being held in the northern city of Nablus. Meanwhile in Gaza, hundreds of people were taking part in a march from central Gaza City to the offices of the International Committee of the Red Cross, an AFP correspondent said. Another sit-in was to take place at Damascus Gate in East Jerusalem at 2 p.m., officials said.Events to mark Prisoners' Day began on Tuesday when youngsters in Gaza City released thousands of balloons into the air, each bearing the name of a prisoner, while there were also solidarity gatherings in Rafah in the south. During the evening, demonstrators gathered in a village near the southern city of Hebron lit a "freedom torch" in front of the home of Arafat Jaradat, a prisoner who died in Israeli custody last month after several days of interrogation, sparking Palestinian allegations of torture."

What wonderfu news! Let us ALL join together in support of the Palestinian prisoners in their desire to starve themselves to death. LET THERE BE PEACE ALREADY!

I feel for them-----I have done LOTS OF HUNGER STRIKES
in the course of my life-time----and continued ---STARVING--
until my parents apologized for offending me.------after age
ten----it no longer worked out well for me

HUNGERING and thirsting for justice, I cannot help but reflect on what Jesus says about that, they are blessed, those who hunger and thirst for justice! SO NICE, watching 3000 Palestinian prisoners following the teachings of Jesus! I FEEL blessed to behold this!

But you just supported the contention that the bible is a pile of nonsense and all
that jesus was ------ie "messiah--from the house of david" is a PILE OF STINKING
CRAP ------make up your mind-----there is actually no evidence that a person
"JESUS" as described in the New Testament ever existed. In fact he is a fictional
character ---based on some guy who incessently quotes RABBI HILLEL_--who did
exist

And if they can start doing that say, once a week the Prison could save enough money to hire more Prison Guards!

Shlomo Sand is discussing The Old Testament and nonsense there, his topic is not Jesus or The New Testament. Any agreements I have with him have nothing to do with Jesus. And Jesus really lived and He still lives, your rejection of Him as Messiah changes nothing! All your rejection of Him as Messiah does is decide where you shall spend Eterniity!

Let's bring on that Third Intifada, the sooner the better!

Viva Palestiina!

When I was an undergraduate-----I was assigned by my college--
to HELP people like you-----people who were unable to
interpret literature or to write a cogent sentence. My
simple little state college was ---THANKFULLY---very strict
in its requirement that all students be able to do so. One
of the boys I helped was "pre-law" In fact my brother
knew him socially----he was considered an idiot in his social
circle. My brother was HORRIFIED---when this kid tried
to date me-----I did ---once. SOMEHOW--he managed
to get into a law school somewhere in alabama and ---
TO THE AMAZEMENT of his friends did manage to become
a lawyer

Given that you've been oh-so-upset about the "disproportionate" numbers of Palestinian deaths in these "uprisings" - I am dismayed to see you cheering and hoping for a third episode of warfare, as it will no doubt see many Palestinians dead and injured. Not to mention the family lives disrupted by prison sentences, etc.

If that is what you desire for people you so admire and respect, I must say you've got an extremely warped perspective.

Finally we can all join together. YES, bring on that third Palestinian intifada. Like I said, the definition of Palestinian mentality is this: When you're already in a hole --- KEEP DIGGING!
