Your "every city has crimes" observation is not the issue. Every shopping mall has crimes. Every home has crimes.

The issue is this:

To legally possess firearms or ammunition, Illinois residents must have a Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card, which is issued by the Illinois State Police to any qualified applicant. Non-residents who may legally possess firearms in their home state are exempt from this requirement.

So, no matter how many regulations you slap on people - the bad guys are going to acquire, carry and use guns.

Now - STFU

yet the city remains one of the worst in the country for criminal activity committed with firearms
