President Donald Trump’s handpicked Commission of Fine Arts voted Thursday to approve a commemorative coin for the United States’ 250th birthday featuring the president’s likeness. And it’s going to be big.
“I motion to approve this as presented, and with the strong encouragement that you make it as large as possible, all the way to three inches in diameter,” the commission’s vice chair, James McCrery, said moments before the design was approved.
The coin they approved features an image of Trump standing with fists on his desk. It appears to be adapted from a recent White House photo installed at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery. “LIBERTY” is spelled out on the top of the coin, above the dates 1776 and 2026. An eagle graces the back.

The 24-carat solid gold coin could be as large as three inches in diameter, which means it would have to contain a minimum of two to four ounces. At $5000 an ounce, the coins could sell for $10,000 to $20,000 per. Face value alone.

As a coin aficionado, I am super excited about it and would be lined up to get mine. It's supposed to be ready by July 4. The number of coins minted is said to be "extremely limitied". I don't know how many that means. 500? 1000? Yes, gold prices are probably at their peak, but I'm guessing this could limit the number produced.

A super-sized solid gold coin befitting the great man. I can't wait.

I see Trump "Never Surrender" Sneakers on ebay for a minimum of $2200. Some are $4000. The original price was $399 for the 1000 pairs that were produced. Not a bad return. The coin might be similar. People LOVE Trump. That's for sure.

PT Barnum said What?

  • Actual resale prices tend to fluctuate widely depending on:
    • condition (new vs worn)
    • serial number (lower numbers can be more valuable)
    • political/collector demand

🧠 Bottom line

  • Original retail: $399
  • Current estimated value:
    • Roughly $1,000

Yeah new shoes with the box -$2000 plus
Obviously worn shoes wouldn’t be so much. Still, a very nice return. It really shows the incredible popularity of the man. Wouldn’t you agree?
