Fireworks, picnics and family gatherings to remember when our nation declared free from Great Britain. George III was a mentally ill tyrant. "No Taxes Without Representation". The Stamp Act of 1765tEA (Stamp Act | History, Definition, Facts, & Riots | Britannica) The Tea Tax (Tea Act - Definition, Timeline & Facts | HISTORY) were precursors for American Revolution.

249-years later, we witness the trampling of Freedom of Press (Jefferson said a Free Press was essential to democracy) We witness teen age boys being arrested on their way to soccer practice. Millions of people being denied heath care and women being to carry unwanted children to term. Independence is being suppressed. Education is under attack. Contribution of Minority Americans are being stricken from our history books. ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL. That used to mean something.

On 2 July 1943 1st Lieutenant Charles Hall became first African-American pilot to shoot a German Fighter in WWII.

He fought for his country and his efforts to help WWII are being stricken from history books.

And failed to provide a remedy to get rid of a criminal president that was suffering from psychopathy before he even got elected.

England had the remedy all along, and didn't need to call on their military to uphold the law.

Dr. Charles Richard Dre the "Father of the Blood Bank",

He did ground breaking work in the preservation of blood, but he was Black. His contribution is hardly remembered.

In what speech did Jefferson say freedom of the press was essential to democracy?

Is this good enough for you?

The basis of our governments being the opinion of the people, the very first object should be to keep that right; and were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter.”

Or how about this?

Or how about this.

President Jefferson supported and defended a Free Press, the same CANNOT be said for 47.

So, nothing about democracy, then.

It is all about a free press MAGA MAGGOT.

George Washington on a Free Press -
  • Champion of Free Speech: Washington believed in the fundamental right to free speech. In 1783, he stated, "the freedom of Speech may be taken away—and, dumb & silent we may be led, like sheep, to the Slaughter". This highlights his strong conviction that open expression is essential for liberty.
  • Encouraged a Free Press: Unlike the British tradition of a government-controlled press, the U.S. government under Washington encouraged a free press by not establishing a government newspaper but instead subsidizing stamps for publications.
  • Tolerated Criticism: While his administration faced harsh criticism from partisan newspapers like the National Gazette (which published attacks on his policies and even his character), Washington never attempted to shut down such publications.
  • Understanding the Importance: Despite personal discomfort with press criticism, Washington understood that a free press was vital for holding leaders accountable and promoting public discourse in a democracy.
  • Legacy: The founders, including Washington, recognized the importance of a free press to the extent that they included it in the First Amendment to the Constitution. This commitment to a free press continues to be seen as essential for a healthy democracy.
In summary, George Washington understood that a free press, though sometimes challenging for those in power, was a necessary component of a democratic society where citizens could be informed and engaged in the political process.

  • Opinion: Recalling the founders' views of a free press

No it isn't, FAGA ******. Not in a republic.

Change a word here and there to change the narrative. That's what you little pinheads like to do, isn't it. Change the words, i.e., lie.

When saying you're NOT a ******* MAGA MGGOT,, that means YOU ARE A ******* MAGA MAGGOT.

More thoughts and words on a free press MAGA MAGGOT.
