There are many problems, and they are all related to the organization of the country. When are people, like you, going to realize that?
I agree that guns are not the problem, but what do you have to fix it, much less, try to fix everything? The country was organized over two hundred years ago for a much different society, and the organization of the states has been pretty much the same model of government. Is it possible that the organization of the government is flawed and that that causes problems???
At least where I live if you go out and shoot somebody, it's only felonious assault which is 2 to 8 years in prison. I'm sure most don't get the max considering our overcrowded prison population. So let's say they get four years. Career criminals can do that standing on their head. They may even get out sooner for good behavior.
Like many of the problems we have in this country, we don't provide a strong enough deterrent. Now, Mayor Lighthead in Chicago wants to stop police from pursuing criminals that run away from them. You knife somebody, and when the cops come, you simply run away. All the police would be able to do is wave bye-bye. Chicago criminals are hoping she gets that regulation passed.
As we weaken deterrents for criminals and disarm law abiding citizens, there can only be one outcome; the outcome we are seeing today.
