I noticed this peculiarity: the narrator repeatedly drew attention to the fact that Soviet women also worked as teachers, train conductors, or in manufacturing. Apparently, such things were not very common for the American middle class at that time.

American women had been working in industry and driving cars and tractors and freaking trains since WW2. Fifties propaganda films both pro and anti-Russia are a dime a dozen.
