The Democrat Leadership under Chuck U. Schumer doesn't want to get rid of the filibuster at all. The filibuster allows them to blame the Republicans for their failures, when they fail to pass a promised bill.

The Screw the People bill wouldn't pass anyhow, the filibuster is just an excuse.
