Correct. It's called a minimum wage statement written into almost every government contract for decades. The first time I personally saw one was in 1983.

Actually, it's all smoke and mirrors. How many government contractors do you think have people doing jobs that pay less than $10.10 an hour? There's probably 50 people in the entire country getting a raise from this. Nothing actually accomplished. But it sure does alot to pander to the base.

If a military base has a set budget and will have to pay $2-$3 more per hour per worker, then that means less workers for the contract.......good job.

The President has it wrong. It should be;

-Raise minimum wage to $23.50/hr. Based on where minimum wage should be using 1970-2013 rise in food, shelter, and transportation.

-Eliminate all business subsidies (deductions/write-off’s/write-downs) except for employee expenses which are deducted dollar-for-dollar on all city, state, and Federal taxes and fees.

-Adjust Social Security and private/public retirement and pension payments using 1970-2013 price structure.

-Back down ALL costs, prices, fees, to January 1, 2009 levels and hold them for 10 years.

-Subsidize all business with less than 200 employees the difference (if any) all taxes and fees vs total employee expenses.
