Hi sweetie. I had to do a little home work, but I'm pretty sure we have always allowed Jews to immigrate here. During the depression we lowered visa # to all immigrants to insure the few jobs we had went to Americans and not foreigners. But not long after the St. Louis, another ship of refugees arrived and Eleanor Roosevelt insisted we not make the same mistake twice so we give them asylum.
