I investigated Junior Great Books. I was drawn to this program because of it’s use of authentic books. I likes that it taught students to think critically and how to interpret literature. The only weakness I see is I don’t know if it could be used for children at various reading levels

The second program I reviewed was Book Buddies. I thought it was a great idea to pair up kids with volunteers. The kids can read books at their level and have some special time with an adult, which most kids seem to love. The only problem I foresee is the lack of volunteers to service the students.

I am not a fan of basal readers in the classroom. I think that kids should read from “real” books. Basal readers have controlled vocabulary which actually slows the child’s vocabulary progress. Basal Readers are for the average children, it does not challenge the higher readers and leaves the lower readers behind.
Thanks Paulie. But if you insist on repping me you have to be my friend. It's a rule.
    Paulie,

When someone threatens, via PM, your daughter, using her name I will remember to show you the same sympathy. It freaked me out and my only intentions was to let the guy know that he scared me off, he won and to leave my family alone!

After talking with the mods. Its seems settled and I will see were it goes from there. When someone threatens your child and you don't know who that person is, but you know that person knows everything about you. You feel powerless and insecure! Not a good way to go into your weekend!

Hope that clears things up a little for you.
YOu should, only Dante responded to when I posted it. We should see how they react when you post it. :D

Oh it was so good, if you have them there, get one with EVERYTHING on them, in the teriyaki sauce.

    I want another one NOW!
Hey Paulie, after you read my salute response, I want to see your salute, so I can critique it... take a look at some of the saluting images around the Internet.... you know who else sags their elbows? Military Honor Guards and the Joint Chiefs of Staff.... I guess they are all lazy and disrespectful too... I hope I run for President some day, just so I can have someone like you who thinks they know it all critique my salute, when as an E-8 with 25+ years of service, that's how I've always done it....
