my favorites are the ones who’re playfully malevolent... and who (however grudgingly) seem to develop a certain amount of respect, admiration and affection for the good guy, even as they try to kill him...

and, deep down, I hate to see ‘em get killed, ‘cause that means I won’t ever see ‘em again...

top of the list for me has got to be Hans Gruber, played by Alan Rickman, in Die Hard... sigh... I miss that guy...

others include (in no particular order):

Stanfield (Gary Oldman) - Leon (aka The Professional)
Clarence Boddicker (Kurtwood Smith) - Robocop
Victor Maitland (Steven Berkoff) - Beverly Hills Cop
Zack (Jonathan Banks) - Beverly Hills Cop
Vincenzo Coccotti (Christopher Walken) - True Romance
Col. Hans Landa (Christoph Waltz) - Inglourious Basterds
Max Zorin (Christopher Walken) - A View To A Kill
Qualen (John Lithgow) - Cliffhanger
Blake (John Lithgow) - Ricochet
Burke (John Lithgow) - Blow Out
Zorg (Gary Oldman) - The Fifth Element
Korshunov (Gary Oldman) - Air Force One
Vincent (Tom Cruise) - Collateral
Anton Chigurh (Javier Bardem) - No Country For Old Men
Goldfinger (Gert Frobe) - Goldfinger
Capt. Smith (James Cromwell) - LA Confidential
Little Bill Daggett (Gene Hackman) - Unforgiven
Brick Top (Alan Ford) - Snatch
Eric Masters (Willem Dafoe) - To Live and Die in L.A.
Bill (David Carradine) - Kill Bill, Vol.’s 1 & 2
Marston (Alan Rickman) - Quigley Down Under
Sheriff of Nottingham (Alan Rickman) - Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves
Ray Sinclair (Ray Liotta) – Something Wild
Pieter Vorstedt (Derrick O'Connor) - Lethal Weapon 2
Capt. Hadley (Clancy Brown) – The Shawshank Redemption

I know I’m blanking on others I’d want to put on the list...

btw, any time I see that Gary Oldman, Alan Rickman, Christopher Walken, Willem Dafoe or John Lithgow is playing the bad guy in a movie I’m about to see, I know I’m prolly in for a treat...

Archie in Rob Roy played by Tim Roth. He was awesome.

If Doc Holiday in Tombstone played by Val Kilmer counts (he wasnt really a bad guy in the movie because it focuses on his friendship with Wyatt Earp, but he was a prett bad guy really), then Id name him.

Of course if he counts so too do all of the Corleones. Romanticized thuogh they were, they were not nice people.

All time favorite bad guy has to be the Sherrif of Nottingham in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.

"I'll cut your heart out with a spoon"...."No more merciful beheadings, no more kitchen scraps for the poor, and call off Christmas!"

Robert DeNiro - Goodfellas

Powers Booth - Tombstone

Wesley Snipes - New Jack City

Michael Keaton - Pacific Heights

Jack Nicholson - The Departed

Worst Bad Guy : Mike Myers - Austin Powers (all those movies are gay)

Christopher Walken: Love him in anything obscure....

Can't think of his name...y'all help me. Guy plays in a lot of western movies and Bonanza type TV episodes...has a wandering eye..his mean look includes his partially closed left eye...always a stubble of beard and oily looking skin...
