You can thank Republicans for Obama s renewed popularity - The Washington Post

The takeaway is that when the action in Washington exposes—and doesn’t smooth over—the fundamental differences between Republicans and Democrats, Obama’s favorability suffers. But when legislators accommodate the White House for the sake of avoiding “dysfunction,” the president benefits.

So if Republican politicians really want to advance conservative legislation, they have to embrace the reality that the only way to win a debate is to have one.

Gee, what a novel idea! Who would have guessed that engaging in a civil debate would be the way to get their conservative agenda passed?

It only happened throughout the Clinton administration. He worked with the GOP and together they came up with compromises that actually resulted in economic growth and prosperity for everyone.

But the dilemma for the rabid right today is that they hate Obama and don't want to do anything that improves his approval ratings. (Just look at Clinton's high approval ratings and they even tried impeaching him and failed!)

So if the extremist rightwing want to move their agenda they have to deal with Obama looking good.

They can't have their cake and eat it too.

Then the reality of the situation rears it's ugly head

the refusal to look for compromise has come from obama, not congress. His "my way or no way" approach to government has failed and the country is the loser.

It speaks volumes when somebody still supports Obama after all he's done. They must be one of the dumbest people on the planet

Or hate America as he does... or both.

Either way, obviously products of a thorough, prog, public school brain washing.

Who knew that 45% of Americas are "truly radical, America hating, commie leftist hacks and retards"?

Pretty obvious by now... to people that think for themselves... :slap:

People who can think for themselves don't dishonestly call their fellow hard working Americans "truly radical, America hating, commie leftist hacks and retards" simply because they have a different political outlook.

One wonders if right wing idiots on this thread alone would realize that IF Obama could run for a 3rd term, he'd win handedly over the tea-sipping clowns that the GOP puts forward.

Keep your eyes on Texas, right wingers....lose that state's electoral votes and you won't ever occupy the WH for at least the next couple of decades.

Keep seeing this self deluding meme about Texas, it is wishful thinking at best.

Greg Abbott Crushes Wendy Davis in GOP Sweep

Attorney General Greg Abbott, presiding over another GOP sweep Tuesday night, crushed state Sen. Wendy Davis in the Texas governor’s race and helped usher in a whole new crop of Republican leaders up and down the statewide ballot.

In this first open race for governor in a quarter century, Abbott was leading Davis by a double-digit margin in unofficial returns. While it is too soon to know the exact margin of victory, and numbers can shift depending on where remaining votes are, with about 85 percent of the precincts counted, she was losing by around 20 points.

According to the Center for American Progress (based on Census Bureau's data,) 600,000 Hispanics will be newly eligible to vote in Florida in 2016.
Over the same period, fewer than 125,000 new white voters will be eligible in Florida.

In Arizona, more than 175,000 Hispanics will enter the voter pool as roughly 10,000 white voters leave it.

In Texas, 185,000 new white eligible voters will be overwhelmed by the roughly 900,000 Hispanics expected to enter the electorate.
