Cleveland Indians drub the New York Yankees, 22-4 - 4/18/09 - New York News and Tri-State News - 7online.com

NEW YORK -- The Cleveland Indians set the bar for Yankee Stadium's new record book Saturday, scoring 14 runs in the second inning of a 22-4 victory.

Asdrubal Cabrera hit a grand slam and an RBI single in the second as the Indians chased struggling starter Chien-Ming Wang and set several marks that could stand for a while at New York's swanky new home.

Mark DeRosa and Shin Soo-Choo each hit three-run homers, Travis Hafner, Grady Sizemore and Victor Martinez had solo shots and manager Eric Wedge earned his 500th victory. Jhonny Peralta had three hits and two RBIs after missing Friday's 6-5 loss with a strained left elbow.

Only Georgie would hit the panic button so early, .500 is fine after a week.

There is nothing to worry about at this point.

I agree that being .500 this early in the season is ok. The problem I see is that Yankee pitcher Wang. Having a high ERA, 5.00-6.00 is one thing, but being 0-3 with an ERA of 34.00 is a problem.
That tells me that there is something wrong with his arm. And Viagra aint gonna help.

wait, where's David?

NY wins 7-3 today, earning a split with Cleeland.

As I said, one huge loss still only counts as one, no big deal.

Joe is fine as manager.

David is probaly upset that the Brew Crew took 2 of 3 from the Mets in their new park this weekend.

it aint the house that ruth built....no luck in new place

yeah thats sweet.Hope that continues in the new place.I hate them even more so NOW than I ever did before since they tore down their classic ballpark.Im sure glad I went there and saw a game there last year before they tore it down.I hate the yankees obviously but they have a tradition that just cant be repleaced with the new ballpark.Thats not the house that Ruth built.

They didn't tear the old stadium down, it's still there as a museum.

NY wins again, 3 stright now.

too bad old comisky ballpark didnt do that. thats why this thread starter wasnt very smart to make this thread in the first place.ONE game where you get a drubbing doesnt make an entire season.
