Would the US like to annex Cuba?

There were a lot of problems in the US because of a separate Cuba. To control the entire Caribbean Sea, it would be good to annex Cuba to the United States, don’t you think?

I think that a lot of Cubans would love to be annexed by the United States.

Look at Puerto Rico. They are 100% Americans, who can come and go as they please.

If the United States were Cuba's "tutor," there would be freedom and economic boom times.

And speaking of annexation, Haiti really needs American tutorship!!! (Hear tell the only time Haiti had a semblance of order was when the U.S. took over the island during World War One (lest the Germans use that island as a submarine base).

no. the usa has had ample opportunity to absorb cuba as it did puerto rico and hawaii. america's job creators prefer cuba as a source of cheap labor.

We get enough issues now out of Guam and Puerto Rico. These islands are an expense and drain of resources.

Cuba is worse...they have had no infrastructure improvements in decades...their economy is crap and built to stay that way....they never have had sufficient fresh water supplies and even their cigar industry has fallen behind the other cigar makers with better tobacco products than they currently have.

Hawaii's only redeeming value is their airport and Naval Base....where ships can get refueled, armed, and fresh food supplies as they cross the pacific. (Less than a 5 day journey these days)

Cuba's only value is possibly a better radar antenna....but we already have Gitmo for that for so little of a threat from the southern hemisphere.

Currently we throw millions of dollars at Puerto Rico for agricultural studies just to watch the money get wasted on the luxurious lifestyles of the Union bosses and gang leaders who seem to control the entire island. Why you believe that Cuba is going to be better is beyond me.

America didn't absorb anything they took Hawaii with guns and the Spanish gave Puerto Rico to the US, the thread just displays the arrogant Imperialist mindset that still prevails with some Americans.
