I don't think it has anything to do with politics and a WHOLE LOT to do with manners. I don't care who it was nor who they claimed to be representing .... the act showed a complete lack of class, IMO.
Well, let's look at the comments on the page from which this came from:

This was also on John Gibson's on Fox. This may be an isolated nutcake, but the lefties will no doubt be emboldened by the election an incidents like this could increase. It is not a bit more tolerable now than it was in the Vietnam era.
I wonder who she voted for in 2004.
She may be a campaign worker for either Murtha or Pelosi. Sounds like their type of nut case.
IS there anyway we can send a card of appreciation to this young soldier...I AM FUMING that the liberal ASSHOLES are starting their 1960 crap again. Sorry for the rant, but we must fight fire with fire and this young soldier must have been totally shocked and hurt. Probably thinks the WHOLE country feels this way. C'MON freepers I know we can find an address or some way to send him a CARD of support!! GET ON WITH IT!!

How can anyone be surprised by this behavior? It's being actively encouraged by the Democratic Party. Senators Dick Durbin, John Kerry and Ted Kennedy are three of the worst (but not the only) offenders purposely fueling hatred for our military personnel solely for their own political gain. And anyone who publicly supports the likes of Cindy Sheehan is just as guilty as this woman who did the spitting.
And... from posts on THIS VERY THREAD:
She probably voted for Kerry
We all know how libs feel about the "uneducated" members of the military
And... as for class... how about this comment:
- GunnyLThe one that REALLY needs to be spit on here is YOU, dirtbag.
