Not really but they often achieve similar results. Marxism and its many variants stems basically from a statist, aesthetic view of socialism defining society as a number of classes, whereas fascism comes generally from a statist view that in theory offers more freedom, so long as your freedom stays within the doctrines and approval of the state. The former presupposes to define you according to the class the system says you are within, whereas the latter attempts to define you as merely subjective OF the state.
