Wisconsin Republicans vote to fire top election official

Wisconsin’s top elections official suffered another blow on Thursday when the Republican-controlled state senate voted to fire her by a party line vote of 22 to 11. Meagan Wolfe’s status as elections administrator will now likely be determined in court.

Legal experts and the Wisconsin attorney general have disputed the move by Republican senators to remove Wolfe, a respected and accomplished non-partisan leader. Her removal would affect the administration of elections in 2024 and illustrates the increasingly wide reach of election deniers and rightwing conspiracy theorists in Wisconsin politics.

More nonsense from the home of dirty politics. The Wisconsin GOP will stop at nothing to deny the democratic process. North Koreans are open mouthed in admiration at the antics of these characters.
Another one that is going to court.
Just another case of Democrats refusing to accept vote results and concede.

The Republicans gerrymandered their majority. Now they are threatening to impeach a judge before she even takes the bench to preserve their gerrymander.

What they are doing are textbook screwing the pooch moves.

The GOP claims to be against rigged elections, but It's Okay When We Do It!
If the Democrats are going to steal elections, how to you think Republicans are going to respond?

It's the Wisconsin voters who are bringing the gerrrymandered case to court, dumbass.

Wisconsin is the most gerrymandered state in the Union.

The Supreme Court justice the Republicans are making illegal moves against won by 11 points. That's the VOTERS speaking. Got it?

Even when the Republicans have won LESS THAN HALF of all votes, they were awarded 60 of the 99 Assembly seats.

And now they are trying to eliminate a judge the VOTERS chose by a landslide.

That is not democracy.

Don't be surprised if the Republicans have their asses kicked in elections for the next 100 years over this bullshit.
Can you not respond to what I actually say?
Is that really so hard? Good grief.

So she shouldnt have been changing election laws and bypassing the people, correct?
But she didn't. You just made that up.

Come, given how many years you've been lying for the glory of fascism, you have no excuse for sucking so badly at it. Take some pride in your work. You're just phoning in the lies.

Remember, you authoritarian bootlickers can't gaslight honest people. Haven't you figured that out? We're not brainwashed statist suckups, so we know you're lying.

So, why did you think you could get away with such a dumb lie? Don't evade, answer the question.

The women in charge in 2020 is no longer in charge. Republicans in Wisconsin have removed Meagan Wolfe from that position. Happy days are here again!

---The Democrats are not going to get away again with the playing of their poorly produced and directed “B-Rated Movie” of attempting to constantly skirt the law when they can’t win at the ballot box or pass legislation and then seek the help of a sympathetic and friendly circuit court judge.---

"WEC's staff may have been trying to make voting as easy as possible during the pandemic, but whatever their motivations, WEC must follow Wisconsin statutes," Justice Rebecca Bradley wrote. "Good intentions never override the law."
Nice try, dipshit.

She should be fired. She broke the law and their Constitution in 2020. She basically changed the states election laws.
How many millions did zuckerberg give her for drop boxes? 7?
If there is any "corruption" going on, it was by her.
"The Supreme Court on Monday rejected requests from two groups of Wisconsin voters and the Democratic National Committee to reinstate modifications to election rules that a federal judge had ordered for the November election because of the coronavirus pandemic. The 5-3 ruling means that the the election will go forward without the accommodations, which included extending the deadline for the receipt of absentee ballots and making it easier for local election officials to work in areas where they do not live."

All they did was extend ballot time.
The EC changed election laws. Which she doesnt have the power to do.
Thats why a judge smacked that silly bitch down

Hahaha. The ruling effected future elections not 2020. And you can still drop your mail in ballot in an unattended mail box too.

Wisconsin’s chief election administrator said Thursday that Wisconsin voters must place their own absentee ballots in the mail and can’t have someone do it for them, adding to confusion over whether elderly and disabled people would be breaking the law if they receive help.

Wisconsin Elections Commission Administrator Meagan Wolfe’s remarks came after the state Supreme Court issued a decision Friday outlawing absentee ballot drop boxes. The justices ruled that only the voter can return an absentee ballot to local clerks in person.

The court didn’t clarify who can place absentee ballots in the mail, however. Wisconsin law mandates that voters must place their ballots in the mail. Federal law, however, allows non-voters to place disabled people’s ballots in the mail.

the Neo-GOP chopped off it's nose to spite it's face.

Wisconsin is one of many states that unconstitutionally changed their election laws for the 2020 election.
She didn’t change the law. She believed the boxes were legal under the law as a means to deliver ballots to the municipal clerk as the law stipulates.

2022. The drop boxes were completely legal in 2020.

Legal and secure.

Oppose to this unsecure and illegal one.

Secure and legal.

The new GOP reality for Wisconsinites.

They weren’t trying to override the law. They felt that the ballot boxes were consistent with the law.

It’s a simple disagreement about interpretation of the law that happens all the time.

Wolfe couldn't possibly be Jewish, could she....
