Windows 12?

I still own a pc have not switch it on in over a year. Don't miss it much. I spent 10 to 11 hours a day at work on them in a previous life. Now all my m9ney goes into fishing poles , tackle, and my boats. Windows 12 likely will not be part of my life. Have fun with it though.

You really need to lighten up Francis........ No need to defend your testosterone levels all the time.

Are you talking to yourself? What is your issue? You are the one who came on all strong calling people clueless, without even saying about what. I just made the logical observation that Windows sucks. Pretty soon, we will be up to Windows 15, or Maybe Windows 22.

Interesting since you're the one who first came in swinging so you're either lying to me or you're lying to yourself.

"you weenie PC users." Explain to me how that's not a personal attack.........

Also you're claims concerning PCs is hyperbole at best as you obviously are relying on your bias and not fact. You may be an expert in one field but not in all. I own PCs that have been working without hardware repair or upgrades for 15+ years. All but 2 of my Apple machines are refurbs..........

It was just a joke. Lighten up. I said Designed obsolescence to suck in you weenie PC users. As someone who has designed electronic gear, I know a big part of many businesses is incorporating designed obsolescence, so you can come out with your new and improved model next year. All I was saying was trying to point out to people to be careful, that they are being taken for a ride with all these continuously new and improved Windows platforms. It seems to me that each one is a promise of fixing all the bugs in the previous version.

No, it is based on a lifetime of using PCs and being disappointed in them, or worse, having them go belly up on me until 2011 when I broke down and switched to using a Mac.

You may be an expert in one field but not in all.
I'm probably not an expert in any field.

I own PCs that have been working without hardware repair or upgrades for 15+ years.
As it should be. My main gripe is with the PC operating systems like Windows.

Your explanation doesn't mean it wasn't a personal attack on Windows users. If it was meant jokingly remember we can't see your facial expressions or body language. There's a reason I use emoticons all the time.
Your experience with PCs is your experiences but aren't always universal and my 15+ year old PCs are Windows machines.
The intent of this tread was to pass on info for anyone who may be interested not to get into a partisan fight over Windows vs whatever.
I'm not a real Windows fan either but I recognize they still have the lion's share of the market so passing on info like this can be helpful to many people. Your average user will never switch to Apple or Linux unless some massive game changer suddenly shows up or disappears from the market.

Designed obsolescence to suck in you weenie PC users. My computer is 13 years old and only on its second operating system, both free, and I still use Windows XP.

Every Windows I've tried since really SUCKED EGGS.
I actually prefer Linux and Mac over windows. I use Linux running a Windows 11 Virtual Machine so I can still use windows sometimes if I wish.

They are all basically a variation of the UNIX platform with differences in the user interface. I found Parallels to be a far better written interface than the other VM I tried; Mac OS of course created / designed for running parallel OS's so long as the main hard drive itself isn't broken up into virtual volumes.

Let me guess... Windows 12 looks exactly like Windows 11, Windows 10 but has spyware that is harder to get rid of.
Windows 10 tweaks worked pretty well. You could stop telemetry etc. and it stayed away.
Windows 11 brought with it a hidden app somewhere that checks if telemetry is working, if not - it restarts it.
My guess is Win 12 will bury the telemetry outside of the OS where it isn't possible to shut it off at all.

Yes, I know. But I don´t see a point using AI for an OS. It is just another way to tell users what they want. I already know. A slim and fast OS for quality software.
The AI is for them, not you.

Its all about how these companies can more effectively spy on you, while telling you its for your benefit

I think it is not about spying, but offering something new. Microsoft is turning Windows into a playground. People didn´t like "Cortana", so they come up with "Copilot". IT news are full of Windows news, that is also what they want. An AI in an OS actually serves no purpose.

Great, now tell me your computer looks like this:

LOOK, MA! No wires! Professional-grade engineering.
Why do have pics of queer computers?
No, mine's a Mac Mini........... Well this one is. Then there's my MacBook Air 15", my iPhone & iPad and my Linux desktop. I do have a Windows gamer I use as a home Steam server so I can play all my Windows games on my Linux machine.......

Care to make any more clueless assumptions?

You're a fucking idiot. It's all about spying and monitoring you; Dumbass.

Gates wanted to get in on what Apple, Google, and Facebook were doing but was late to the party.

It's all about the datamining, boys!

The AI actually analyzes your porn videos and offers the respective gay porn in your start menu.

Well, since a complex AI is not required to track your actions, you turn out to be a paranoid moron.
