Again, that's like arguing that it was okay that you were going 100MPH through a school zone, but it's okay because you didn't hit any kids and their parents didn't complain.
Oh, now it's 100 mph. Last time you said 55. Let's be a little more accurate, shall we? It's more like you're in a large group of commuters that routinely go 55 past the back entrance of the school and all the kids leave via the front. No one ever gets hurt because everyone understands what's going on. A local who hates your guts calls the police and says he saw you go through that area 10 years ago at 55 and you get arrested. No one else does, and in fact, the chief of police tells everyone not to worry, they won't get in trouble for going through that zone because they only wanted to catch you.

It will be cut by a 1/2 to a 1/3.

No it won't. The State of New York has been trying to prosecute Trump for DECADES because Trump openly bragged about all of the stuff he was getting away with.

You seem to forget that American banks stopped lending money to Donald Trump in 2000. That's because Trump had gone bankrupt 4 times while operating casinos in Atlantic City. It's shocking he hasn't been prosecuted for bribery, corruption and fraud before now.

The judgement won't be cut at all. It was a conservative sum in the first place.

You had to go a LONG, LONG way to make that analogy and it's not even a valid comparison.

Your assumption that ALL rich people are as dishonest and corrupt as Trump is where you go wrong. There is no "large group of corrupt and dishonest business people" committing fraud against their banks and insurance companies on a daily basis.

And no, everyone doesn't just "let it happen". Here's a list of recent convictions in New York. If all business people were as corrupt and dishonest as the Trump Family, banks and insurance companies couldn't function profitably.

When Trump failed to pay his fair share of state, and fought assessment for state local taxes, the rest of the taxpayers had their taxes raised to cover the costs of the litigation with Trump, and to make up the shortfall in their budgets which his refusal to pay, created.

Trump may have a Supreme Trump card to play. The 8th Amendment. How can he use it?

"Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted."

In 1998, however, the Court injected vitality into the strictures of the clause. “The touchstone of the constitutional inquiry under the Excessive Fines Clause is the principle of proportionality: The amount of the forfeiture must bear some relationship to the gravity of the offense that it is designed to punish.” 9 In United States v. Bajakajian,10 the government sought to require that a criminal defendant charged with violating federal reporting requirements regarding the transportation of more than $10,000 in currency out of the country forfeit the currency involved, which totaled $357,144. The Court held that the forfeiture11 in this particular case violated the Excessive Fines Cause because the amount forfeited was “grossly disproportionate to the gravity of defendant’s offense.” 12 In determining proportionality, the Court did not limit itself to a comparison of the fine amount to the proven offense, but it also considered the particular facts of the case, the character of the defendant, and the harm caused by the offense

Does the Eighth Amendment only apply to the Federal Government, or does it protect all citizens?
Trump only got a 3 year ban on business! He should've got life!

No,

But it won't survive an appellate challenge.

Even Hochul is backtracking on this already. Who would have thought that real estate companies would start abandoning the city (taking billions in revenue with them) after seeing this clown ruling?
N.Y.C. is the financial headquarters of the entire planet, mouth breather.

Think major banks & developers are going to pull out because your assbuddy got caught as the fraud that he is, ass breath?

The former Deutsche Bank executive who recruited Donald Trump as a client testified Wednesday that the bank’s dealings with the former president were lucrative and her superiors were eager to expand them.

No. Trump wasn't issued any fines. It was not a criminal case.

OK.
So a Deutsche bank employee admitted to participating in a fraud for money.

Don't make the fraud not a fraud.

I'm guessing that's why you rant here instead of an actual court.

You couldn't trigger a flame with a group of teenage boys all eating beans and drinking beer, and holding lighters to one another's asses, which is a pretty apt description of Trump Cult antics.
Zzz

You’re too lame to bother with, Lizardtwat.

Do you ever say anything of any actual value?

You’re also off topic — again.

Is there a universe in which the $355+/- million dollar “fine” isn’t obviously and facially excessive?

DS said that there was NO FRAUD moron.
If there was they would know it, because they would have been victimized, duh.
(Hint: they were the lender, they made lots of money, walked away happy)
