Why would Putin want Trump as president?

Trump is a patriot and everything he'll do will be only for US (the country and the people) sake. If he wants to try to be a partner with Russia, that will be only as long as it benefits US, not Russia.
Tramp is an amateur in global politics and Putin is a master. Tramp has no idea what Putin has up his sleeve, all Tramp sees is Putin's flattery

It's true that Putin is a master, he certainly schooled Obama the last eight years.

Trump may be new to it, but he was new to politics and defeated Bush, Clinton, and Obama in one year. He'll put Putin in his place if he tests him.
He'll put Putin in his place if he tests him
From your mouth to G-d's ears!

Putin yesterday: But I very much hope that common sense will prevail. This applies to relations between the United States and its allies, including in Europe. After all, it is the current outgoing administration that has involved many European political leaders in the US domestic political fight. Today's problems are the result of these activities.

I am sure that major mutual interests will set things right. Things will fall into place eventually. By the same token, I am sure, we will eventually be able to return to normal state-to-state relations in the interests of both the peoples of Europe and the peoples of Russia and the United States, which will contribute to advancing the global economy, stabilising the international situation and providing security.

Putin tells the truth about him and Trump

Putin spinning lies about him and Trump is more like it. Trump has many reasons for wanting a useful idiot like Trump in power. He wants an end to NATO, because he's trying to rebuild the USSR.

Putin joined the KGB in 1975 as the USSR was falling - destroyed by Reagan. Do you honestly think a Cold War KGB agent who brutally rules the Russian people, and has a goal of making Russia great again, really wants a strong America to counter his aggressions? If you do, you truly deserve what Putin and Trump are about to do to you.

Riiigghhhttttt. After Obama, Putin wants a less strong US President. So far, this is the most vacuous post I've seen today. Nice job, hope you can hold the lead for 9 1/2 more hours

Reagan was not elected until 1980. IN 1975 the Soviet Union was doing great vs the weak foreign policy of Jimmy Carter.

Putin has ONE very good reason for wanting an American President who is NOT LIVING IN THE PAST and who thus understands that the Cold War is over.

Putin's interest is not whether or not America is weak or strong, but whether the American leadership is stupid enough to have a conflict for no reason.

imo, because Trump knows that the Cold War is over, while the vast majority of the Political Class A. does not, and B. stupidly want to treat Russia as a defeated power that can easily be pushed around.
Nope, there is something that is of great power and benefit to Russia and Putin that a hostile American president would make very difficult for Putin to pull off. Putin is nearly there now, and has exercised this power several times already and with an easing of restrictions by the USA, Putin will have the control he desires.

EVERYTHING that Putin wants to do, would be made more difficult by an American President living in the past, ie the Cold War.

That is covered in my bit about Trump knowing the COld War is over, and HIllary NOT knowing that.

WHATEVER specific issue you are thinking of, the same logic holds true for nearly EVERYTHING that Putin wants to do.
Nope, there is something that Putin wants to control that will greatly strengthen his power over his neighbors and also Eastern Europe. He thinks he can get it by flattering Tramp's ego since Tramp has no understand of the geo-political power structure, and he is probably right, to the detriment of his neighbors and Eastern Europe. Putin has already used this power on his neighbors, but needs something extra to lord this power over Eastern Europe.

Trump understands the geo-political structure of Europe far better than any of those fools who think that A. the Cold War is still on, or B. that Russia can be pushed around like a defeated power.

Putin's neighbors, with Eastern Europe now being free, and with Russia's population crashing, are quite capable of easily deterring Russian if they are prepared to spend more than 2% of their economies on their military.

Why in the world are you promoting Putin propaganda against your country?
Explain.............. Why Putin neighbors are turning to West for help against Putin?

Give us one example what is Russia or Putin's contribution to humanity or to the world.

Aside from China, Iran and Iraq ............ then Trump .......... What other countries that is considered as Russians ally?

That is the million dollar question which - when posed - completely obliterates the false narrative of the left.

The fact is, Putin wants a limp-wristed progressive in the Oval Office (such as Barack Obama or Hitlery Clinton) that he can run roughshod all over. The last thing he wants is another George W. Bush.
So Putin and the Russian influence did help Trump win after all. Thanks for clearing you soul.....To Heaven you go......you sinner.

Patriot is very patriotic to Putin.

You mindless drones can't think beyond your programmed hatred.

Putin sits pretty. US secretary of state is Exxon's CEO Tillerson, a friend of Putin. Michael Finn, the proposed national security adviser is a strong advocate of Russia. The Russian President has tons of influential friends in Washington, ready to sway things in his favor. In the coming months, US support for energy diversification in Europe will erode quickly, branding the renewal of US-Russia ties as a priority over interfering in foreign energy markets.

US progress towards energy self-sufficiency in the sight of consistently low oil prices has also reduced geopolitical concerns over control of foreign energy sources. So it comes as no surprise that the US has started a reform to drastically reduce its Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

Slowly but surely, Russia has laid the groundwork for dominance over the European energy market. For now, the Russian ploy seems to be working well. And, Washington has been reined in too. The southern Gas corridor could well be the tipping point. On target, Russian monopoly on natural gas is set. The big question is, what next?

The Europeans are grownups. THey are responsible for their own choices.

They are grownups and very smart.......... That is why they are turning to the west for help against Putin.

The reason is pretty obvious, but I wonder how many really know.
Putin hates Hillary because he thinks she tried to interfere with the Russian elections.
Putin would have been behind anyone who opposed her. If it had been Cruz. He would have backed Cruz.
Not even close!
Again, the Right just spouts their programmed hate without a moments thought.

Washington Examiner: Ted Cruz: Obama sanctions against Russia too little, too late | Ted Cruz | U.S. Senator for Texas
Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, said President Obama was right to announce new sanctions against Russia in response to aggression in Ukraine, but suggested that his actions were "far too little and too late." ...

Cruz suggested that the United States should move to install ballistic missile batteries in Eastern Europe, sign a free trade agreement with Ukraine and help the country build infrastructure for importing natural gas.
All of that, still falls well short of BOTH a. interfering in Russian elections, or b. the proposed and insane no fly zone.
Given a choice between the two, putin would have still be likely to prefer the NOT Hillary.
Just saying.
There is no way Putin would support Cruz because the thing Putin wants most is to build a new pipeline and corner the Natural Gas market in the area and Cruz is for making countries in the area less dependent on Putin for NG, which Putin has used in the past by cutting off supply to force his will on his neighbors. Around the time of the annexation of Crimea, Russia turned off the gas to Ukraine, the third time it has done so in the last 10 years.

Russia Cuts Off Gas To Europe, Pulls Itself Out Of The Petrodollar - Page 2 of 2 - Truth And Action

Russia Cuts Off Gas To Europe, Pulls Itself Out Of The Petrodollar

But pulling out of the dollar isn’t the only move Russia just made. In a grand escalations of tension surrounding the Ukraine, Russia simply cut off 60% of all gas going through that country to Europe, causing an energy crisis just as winter is setting in. This was done ostensibly due to allegations that the Ukrain was illegally siphoning gas from the pipeline.

Perhaps when Putin stated that World War III is ‘inevitable’ he wasn’t just tossing words around.

2. Because Putin is aggressively pursuing Russian interests, even if they conflict with those of his neighbors.

3. Contribution to the humanity or the world? DOn't care. We don't have a Cold War with nations that don't contribute enough.

4. Don't know, don't care. What is your point?

Still better than a reckless fool like HIllary who would order US pilots to shoot down Russian planes.

It's probably because they know that the US troops are there to help them out. Matter of fact, there are several countries that will treat American troops very well. I remember being back in Palma Mallorca in the mid 80's and met up with some Brits on the beach. The woman asked if I had any other friends with me, because her husband was interested in meeting American military people. I went and got my friend Fred, and for the rest of the day, as well as most of the evening, those 2 British couples fed us, took us around the town, and bought us a LOT of beer. And, all they wanted was to get a tour of the boat.

There are lots of places in Europe where American military is thought of pretty highly.

Because they are a lot closer to Russia than Germany or France Or Italy Or England, Or Spain, Or the Netherlands.

Now, your turn. Explain why the Europeans are comfortable putting Putin in charge of their energy.
