Why the Republicans cannot hold out on voting on Obama's USSC nomination

Republicans can’t outlast President Obama on Supreme Court nomination battle

Yup, now we know why Congress has such a dismal approval rating. The obstructionist Repubs have shown their true colors. They announced that they were going to block Obama's selection, even before it is announce. They are making their obstruction and disdain for America very public.

Their Party before Country attitude may finally be dooming the GOP.

GO DONALD!

Again:

"Supreme Court Justice Lewis Powell was a moderate, and even before his expected retirement on June 27, 1987, Senate Democrats had asked liberal leaders to form "a solid phalanx" to oppose whomever President Ronald Reagan nominated to replace him, assuming it would tilt the court rightward; Democrats warned Reagan there would be a fight.["

Nothing new, and both sides are at fault.

The GOP must decide, do they want to vote on Obama's SC nominee and get a moderate-liberal judge on the court. Or do they want to obstruct for nearly a year and lose both the WH and the Senate and get a very liberal judge on the SC. They need to choose their poison carefully. McConnell is going to work off his second and third chin in trying to get out of this one.
And who is Obama's nomination?
we shall see. another thing we have to acknowledge is that there is no way that liberals lose on this nominee. scalia never cast a supreme court vote that made a difference. his vote on any issue was never in doubt. even a slightly conservative leaning moderate, the best the republicans can hope for no matter who wins, will move the court to the left.

That's funny! The Dems did exactly the same damned thing in 1987.
did they? because it sure looks like reagan got his nominee approved

because it sure looks like reagan got his nominee approved

HIs third one.

After Bork was Borked, and Ginsberg failed to be accepted.

Kennedy passed because he was considered 'bipartisan'
so after trying to put up two radicals he nominated someone more moderate. gee, imagine that.

Yeah, Kennedy was such a moderate that he often votes with the liberals.

A Republican presidential victory and hold of the Senate will solve that problem.

no, it won't. not really. the democrats will just fillibuster any undesirable nominee.

and the republicans will likely lose seats in the senate. maybe not control, but they will be weaker

It is a patriotic duty to protect America from another leftist hack appointee.

Algore says Global Warming will prevent Hell from freezing over so O'Bumbles is screwed on his hope of packing the court with his kindred. No, not Kenyans, just extreme liberals of colour or confused gender. Or both.

You mean like Obama and how he puts his sleazy leftist ideology ahead of country?

No, sir, you are flat out wrong. Obama and his leftist ideology are the enemy and must be opposed until that virus runs its course.

How many new voters will the Republicans gain?

Let's surmise: Anyone who lost his/her employer supported insurance plan.
Anyone who has seen his premiums and co-pays skyrocket under Obamacare.
Anyone who has seen their work hours cut because of Obamacare.
Anyone who is forced to work two part-time jobs because of Obamacare.
Anyone who has had to pay a fine for not having insurance that meets Obamacare guidelines.
Anyone who has seen his job close and move to Mexico or somewhere else because of Obama's policies.
Coal miners.
Coal fired power generating plant operators.
Policemen and other law enforcement officers.
Hunters and other gun owners.
Gun store owners.
NRA members.
Many real Christians including pastors and other clergy.
Many small business owners.

That's just a few that should serve to insure a Donald Trump victory.

Ah, so many Democratic Senate campaigns to donate to this year, starting with Ted Strickland's here in Ohio.

Pure political tactical theater.

The Pubs only need fight a delaying action until January 20, 2017, to avoid adding another Liberal to the bench of the Supreme Court.

Shouldn't be hard to do... everybody is expecting it... everybody knows why... and vast numbers of Americans are going to be just fine with it.

Without stealing the Super delegates, Hillary won't even beat Bernie.
