None of them were killed because the Taliban gave the US till the end of August to get our people out.
If Biden had paid heed to the warnings he could have gotten all of our people out along with the Afghans who assisted us and billions of dollars worth of equipment.
Instead he lied his ass off and we now have thousands of Americans and supporters left in the Stand. Oh and lets not mention the billions of dollars worth of equipment the Taliban now have.

What was actually going on in Afghanistan was not a war. It was a occupation with very few casualties due to a raid every now and then by the taliban.
We could have maintained the status quo there very easily and with little cost if not for the misguided decision to try and turn Afghanistan into a democracy.
That is where most of the money went; trying to build the infrastructure for this democracy the powers that be envisioned.
