Why Gulf women join jihadi groups
Gulf local papers publish every now and then news about Saudi and Kuwaiti women jihadists joining the Islamic State (Daesh) organization. Al-Watan published on Oct 30 a news item about Kuwaiti women fighting with Daesh.
The paper said that there are 200 women in Al- Khansa brigade of Daesh in the Syrian Raqqa province, which includes three Kuwaitis. The women’s job besides fighting is to provide logistic support and transferring arms and ammunition.
Why does the Gulf woman accept joining jihadi action and join her husband and does not think about her and her children’s lives, and exposing her country and society to danger?
