Why does noone talk about?

If America is not exceptional, if all powers do this then we are in Hobbes war of all against all, and America becomes exceptional once again for being the best of all.

I don't think so. All against all does nothing to explain individual nation-states desire to obtain results in their countries interests and the alliances they may make to achieve those ends.

Wilson's military campaigns into Cuba, Haiti, and mexico?

The American eugenics movement in the 1920's?

The 'Right to Rape' and other crimes committed by Northern armies during the War for Southern Independece?

Banana Republics and America's anti-freedom, neo-colonial past?

The hypocrisy of espousing self-determinism while fighting to keep Vietnam subjugated?

American support for the Russian Czar (the Whites)?

The fact that Lincoln made it clear he did not believe in black equality?

The annexation/takeover of Hawaii?

We learn all about the evils of german and japanese imperialism, but never talk about our own. We denounce both tyrants and communists, yet do not speak of America's role in drawing out the Russian Revolutionary War- something Russia remembers well, and which helped fuel the suspicions that led to the 'Cold War'. We learn that tyrants are bad, but fail to mention that America has no problem with oppressive regimes if it benefits our economic/industrial interests?

Is it really any wonde the world sees America and a bunch of hypocrites?

Because you dont start a thread on the topics. And most of those topics make the left very uncomfortable. Especially when the Eugenics movement is still going strong today.

Those are excellent questions! But let's be honest, what countries add all the attrocities of the past into their school curriculum? Hell, even in JAPAN they have problems talking about the RAPE OF NANKIN. Not like here in Costa Rica it is much better- though on the other hand, our state's oppressive apparatus and power projection have been so pathetic throughout history there is really little to talk about [and that is a good thing!]. Hell, very little is even said about "Banana republics and America's imperialist past"- despite that we were virtually one of those Banana republics. The powers that be everywhere like to keep that sort of thing hidden firmly in the basement closet.

I'm sorry avatar: What?? Those topics make "the left" uncomfortable? Did you read what the questions were about or... I'm sorry, I don't understand how you could come to that conclusion. :cuckoo:

because 99% of people hate truth. it's not unique to America either. people all over the world hate truth.

i speak the truth thats why my "rep power" is leaning negative.

traditionally those who would speak the truth would be exiled, jailed, assassinated, beheaded and sometimes burned alive.
