We would not need welfare if Conservatives had the freedom to simply work.

Funny, Liberal/Democrats force industry out of the USA, people who want to work, can't, and somebody wants to discuss this in a vacuum completely ignoring that the Socialist/Liberal/Democrats with a lot of help from rhino republicans are destroying industry which creates welfare.

Our solution is to work, take your boot off my throat so I can work.

all true, but it's useless trying to explain reality to someone who now want to FORCE businesses to pay them 10 bucks an hour for flipping a hamburger

they don't have a clue so instead we get dumb threads like this one

What on earth are you talking about? Plenty, plenty, plenty of Democrats in Congress also support corporate welfare. Some of the leading advocates of ending corporate welfare are Republicans--e.g., Mike Lee, Rand Paul, etc., etc.

And, FYI, welfare spending *increased* when Republicans controlled the White House and Congress in the mid-2000s.

Where do you folks get your information? MoveOn.org? The Huffington Post? The Washington Post? Media Matters?

I never said democrats didn't support it. I made that clear. I also believe some republicans are against it.

However, I also made this clear: democrats widely support welfare for the poor and republicans are widely against welfare for the poor. Republicans, in this regard, are hypocrites.

Yep! Driving their Cadillac SUV, talking on their Iphone, kids playing X-Box with the three flat screen TV's and cable and internet.

Got to be miserable.

I have run two faith-based non-profits and have helped a lot of poor. I have never seen this manufactured poor person with a Cadillac SUV you describe. Your made up bullshit is far from the norm.

Says the king of Bullshit!

I agree with him. I own three rental properties. I have had several tenants on Section 8 assistance and none of them were how you describe. A couple of them didn't even have cars.
