I do not believe in hell except as something that exists in the here and now. I think that some people choose to reside in hell, and that hell also exists where people are trapped in lives of poverty, neglect, abuse, violence, and pain. I think that it is the responsibility of the living to try to remove hell wherever we can, and replace it with something better, because nature abhors a vacuum. I do not live for your god, but that does not mean I live for myself. I live to worship the divine and serve other humans.

Even with the bounty of Christian organizations in our country I am sure there are many that don't understand the message of Christ. For most Christians, they live a wonderful, vibrant and meaningful life. Some Christians feel totally sad that so many live without it.

A church building is very intimidating to some non-Christians. A nut on a message board isn't intimidating at all. I think Jeremiah has found a wonderful avenue for sharing his joy with other people.

He isn't trying to harm you or take anything away from you. That should be refreshing rather than annoying. I think you are annoyed because you don't understand the concept of selflessness. Jeremiah wants your life to be as wonderful as his life is.

Jeri is like other thumpers here and she doesn't sound any happier than the rest of them. In fact, they come across as miserable. They don't seem to get much comfort or serenity from their beliefs. Much of what they write reads like they're trying to talk themselves into believing a mouth full of mush.

The other thing they have in common is they write in rote. There are key phrases that have been drilled into them and they just regurgitate them over and over.

Jeri, you, Avatar and others who are what I believe to be fake christians insist you know what your god wants and then cram it down the throats of those who don't agree. For the most part, you all preach hate for your fellow man and some, like you, state that animals should all be destroyed.

For the millionth time - you all are welcome to your opinions and beliefs. As I stated earlier in this thread, I believe this board to be an excellent place for you all to preach all you want. Its like your special buildings that have been set aside and protected by the govt in that there is a special forum set aside for you.

For the most part, I avoid the thumper posts. I doubt that most other posters read those endless copy/pastes any more than I do. Its the same with your special, protected buildings. I don't go there and preach my beliefs to you and tell you to change or you'll burn in hell.

Is it really unreasonable to expect the same from the thumpers?
