This is ignorant and wrong, as African-Americans in fact benefit greatly from their support of democratic candidates, as do all Americans.
For African-Americans they get the most important thing in return for their support: elected representatives who respect and defend the civil rights of all Americans, including voting rights particularly important to African-Americans where those rights remain under attack by republicans in the form of 'voter ID' laws, along with other efforts to hinder the African-American vote such as seeking to limit when citizens may vote.
Indeed, for African-Americans the GOP is correctly perceived as a party hostile to their interests, hostile to diversity and dissent, and hostile to inclusion and expressions of individual liberty – a hostility that does not exist in the democratic party which advocates inclusion and diversity.
Indeed, for African-Americans it's not about 'getting something,' it's about being allowed to fully participate in the political process where race is of no issue.

Well it's not like they're going to get better representation from the Republicans.
Also you seem to be making the assumption that representation only exists when people have income equality. It might just be that some of the places with the highest inequality means some people have massive amounts of money and everyone else is just well off, whereas further down the line you have the richest who are just rich, and the poor are really quite poor but income equality is closer.
