Why Are Women More Liberal Than Men?

It’s hardly a secret that women vote more liberal and Democrat than do men. Even married women, while voting less liberal than their unmarried cohort, retain the sex disparity in vote preference. A study has found that suffrage moved the country inexorably to the left, and it hasn’t stopped moving in the degenerate direction since.

CH proposed a biological mechanism that follows from an understanding of the sexual market to explain the greater liberalism of women. As the resource-exploiting sex, women are neurally charged to extract support and transfer provisions from men to themselves to see them through the tough times of pregnancy and the raising of small children. To aid them in this purpose, women have evolved an innate (if subtly shifting) warmth for men who can provide for them and who show it through romantic displays of fidelity.

But when women become self-supporting, either by their own financial independence or via government largesse (which is in practice the redistribution of beta male resources to women), then the limbic impulses that help them connect with beta providers become short-circuited and redirected to charming cads and government growth. The cad serves the pile driver need while the sugar daddio big government serves the provider need. Under this arrangement, women can indeed “have it all”, (except for long-term commitment from men, which loses its incentive structure in this beta-bypass system).

Therefore, the liberalism of women is as much a consequence of their reliance on government serving as husband substitute as of their inherently greater sensitivity to perceived inequality or rifts in community cohesion. This theory gains traction by the evidence that married women become less liberal, ostensibly because their provider needs are being met by a real husband and the government has assumed the role of a malevolent outsider ransacking their intact family for tax money to be distributed to other women and their children.

All’s fair in souls and shivs, but this may be only part of the story of women’s infantile harm-based liberalism. The political and economic liberalism of women coexists with a greater female tendency to collectivism and religious feeling. Oddly, women appear to be both more liberal and more conservative than men, at least when the metrics used for comparison are sliced thinner. (And the hamster went wheeee….)

If you have to claim to be an alpha male, you're not. The conservatives always claim it.

Good luck to the Republicans here with their "WOMEN ARE JUST STUPID EMOTIONAL PARASITES!" line. And to think they actually wonder why women won't vote for them. Don't worry conservatives, maybe you can win elections with only the bitter old white male vote.

One would imagine that alpha males would win elections, right?

So why did someone with polio like FDR win 4 elections in a row? Why did Clinton beat Bush sr and Dole? Why did Obama beat both McCain and Romney?

Or was it because that in each instance the alpha male did win but the alpha male in all of those races just happened to be a liberal minded alpha democratic candidate? Furthermore did they win because women preferred the alpha male in each instance?

So given the statistics (linked by Hoosier) that show only 25% of Republican conservatives are alpha males as opposed to 37-41% of liberal Dems it makes sense that they are winning more elections because they are running more alpha males. 71% of alpha males are either moderates or liberals.

But the acid test is to look at this from the Republican perspective and see if it still holds true.

Reagan as the alpha male beat Carter and Dukakis. But Reagan was a closet liberal who was anti nuclear war, compromised with Dems and went hog wild with deficit spending and big government. Bush jr beat Gore and Kerry. Again we see a big spender who massively increased the size of government and who pushed deficit spending like there was no tomorrow.

So the premise holds true that alpha males do win elections but it is liberal/moderate alpha males who are prevailing.

The problem the GOP has is that the majority of alpha males in their ranks cannot win presidential elections with their current conservative mindset. Furthermore they are driving all of the moderate alpha males who could win those elections out of the party. Hence their desperation to deprive as many "liberal" voters of their rights.

Genuine alpha males don't have a need to do things like that. They are confident in their own abilities and positions that they will win enough support by being who they are. They proudly embrace who they are and work to make their vision into a reality. They most certainly don't blame women and minorities. Instead they reach out to help them and support them because that is what genuine alpha males are all about. This is why Jesus was a genuine alpha male with a vision and the compassion to help those less fortunate than himself. Jesus was the ultimate liberal alpha male.

I wouldn't doubt that the average white liberal has a higher IQ than the average white conservative. I would like to see the racial breakdowns on your studies. If blacks and hispanics were included, who lean hard left, I would wager the IQ breakdown would be much different. Considering blacks and hispanics respectively score 15 and 10 points lower than Whites on IQ tests.

This may be true in the US but it certainly is not the case in, for example, the UK. There those with low education, low earnings - or no earnings - are far more likely to vote left, regardless of their skin shade. The same is true in Sweden.

Sure the lefty intellectiuals or the champagne socialists are not unknown but they make up a tiny proportion of the left vote.

That has been my experience as well. When I meet hard working, self-reliant, successful Hispanics and Blacks, they are very often more right-wing than I am.

I have always assumed this is for the same reason, that people are often liberal on crime, until they themselves are victimized, and then they are more conservative.

I myself was far more 'liberal' on crime, until I had thieves steal all my stuff several times. Now I'm fairly hard core on crime.

Similarly, people are very often economically liberal, until they end up successful in business or trade, and mugged by the government. When they see the shear amount of cold hard cash they worked to earn, being sucked away by the government, all their socialist tendencies disappear.

Individual people tend to get more liberal as they grow older, not more conservative. People tend to be incorrect about that, since they see that older generations are more conservative, and thus assume individuals must grow more conservative. However, even among those older generations, the individuals tend to have gotten more liberal as they aged.
