Whose hand is in the cookie jar.

I don't intend to address it, if somebody wants to be a fat-ass, that's their choice. Don't make somebody else pay for it.
Should you pay for my iron lung because I choose to smoke?

You are overpaying for that iron lung now.

Why not pay less?

Why don't you pay for it?

We are ALL paying for it now.

Don't you get it? We don't let people die on the street in this country. Therefore, we are all paying for everyone's healthcare now.

Why overpay for it?

old nuts,,, old nuts, old nuts,,, I asked you how many illegals Japan educated and provided medical care for????? got any clues???? How much of the GDP goes to educating and treating illegals,,???

You tell us, and provide a link.

You still have not come up with a solid answer: Why would giving the government control of health care lower the cost when the government is the reason it's so high?

The government is not the reason it is so high.

The for profit incentive to deny care and increase cost is the reason it is so high.

Really ... so the government isn't the one charging licensing fees, processing fees, regulatory fees(, and bribes) ... so that medical companies can do business here? Not one fee is charged by the government? Really?

Please explain how somebody makes a profit by not supplying a service?
Are you this stupid in real life, or do you just play an idiot on the internet?

No, you are the one that is stupid.

They collect premiums.

The fewer medical procedures they have to cover, the more money they make.

The incentive is to deny coverage and only cover healthy people.

Yet ... in capitalism they would lose customers and go bankrupt if that happened ... ;)

Oh wait ... we have never actually seen capitalism in the US.

That must be why doctors are so eager to accept insurance.
They want services denied so that they make more money. :cuckoo:

No, they only cover healthy people.

There are plenty of health people around.

So the incentive is to deny coverage for sick people.

 You can't make this shit up!

 You do realize that in many states employers are often forced to pay for health insurance for employees?

 That's just one of the many points I could make right now, but I'll save those for other responses to your insanity.

Which has nothing whatsoever to do with what we are discussing.

The incentive for the insurance companies is to deny coverage to sick people.

This is why they won't cover "pre-existing conditions".

Then why is a new government mandate needed?
Unless it is to make the stupid people feel better as they hand over their personal rights?
Rhetorical question, we all know the stupid people have been duped.

Um ... no, the reason why is because the government regulated out their competition so now they know they won't lose customers since many businesses have to have insurance because the government made those laws forcing them. Key point here: The government made this mess.

Because it is cheaper and better to cover everyone before they need the most expensive medical care of all, the emergency room.

This is one of the reasons that all the other industrialized countries in the world pay HALF per capita what we pay for healthcare. Our system is bloated, expensive, and unfair. That's why no one else uses a system like ours.

Indeed, most people do not understand what insurance is, the insurance company is placing a bet on you, depending on your racing form, if you are a nag ready for the glue factory, you are fucked. They give you bad odds.

You are placing a bet against yourself, you are worried you are a nag ready for the glue factory, you probably are not, you may be Seabiscuit, and the insurance comapnies will bet on you if they think you are.

The government made this mess by not having national health insurance and by allowing the insurance and pharma companies write the laws.

Now Obama is trying to move us in the right direction, but people like you are in the way.
