Our country relies greatly on our technological advantages from the battle field to everyday life. We spend over 800 billion per year on our military, but if we're not willing to develop the cutting edge, what does it matter? Obama hasn't stopped countries like China, Russia and the euro-fighter from coming within range of us within the skies. We're getting back to a period of history that is like 1910s-1940 that had many nations with technology that is closer to a match. Who is best to regain the edge for the United States? Obama or Romney?
My opinion is to get out of the Middle East and put all that money into programs like Darpa, JPL, Nasa(or whatever secret program they have). We must keep our edge at all cost.
China, Russia, India, Japan, Eu are all investing in space and we seem to be falling behind yet again. Seriously, how does a great power remain so when it doesn't want to push the limits and lead? No period of history of this world has a great power remained such, while completely ignoring the new advancements of the other powers.
It's true that our schools are where it all starts and needs reforming badly. Reform within the way of favoring the students' success above all should be considered, but some will defend the teacher no matter how bad they may be. We can't keep dropping within this area in expect to produce the best technology money can buy.
Who is the best choice for the future of our nation? This is most important as this is between us being a superpower or an equal that has to worry about other nations kicking in our door. .
