The apostolic letters say, that the Pharisees believed in the spirit and an afterlife, the seducees didn't. So, can we consider the seducees the forerunners of statism and socialism? And were the seducees truthful in their believes, or did they just publish this to fool outsiders, but amongst themselves they did believe the same as the Pharisees?

Think of the Pharisees as the old guard, the status quo, the Sadducees challenged their grip on power by rejecting most all of what the Pharisees taught primarily for political reasons.

Sadducees were the old nobility, with inherited offices and wealth, Pharisees were a sect that gained power late, and were more popular with the general population, the ones who were scribes began to take over the courts. Not all Pharisees were scribes, but all scribes were Pharisees. As a sect they were big on apocalyptic literature, and their influence on Christianity is seen in Paul's ministry, he was a Pharisee, and John was also probably one. The Sadducees' last gasp was starting up a rebellion against the Romans, but that got taken over by Pharisees, and the result was the Temple got burned down and they got kicked out of Jerusalem, essentially.

For an excellent history on Jewish culture and political structure in the time of Jesus, get a copy of Joachim Jeremia's Jerusalem in the Time of Jesus; it's the best scholarly work around, heavily sourced and foot noted, which can make for dense reading in parts, but it;s fairly comprehensive and covers Pharisees, Sadducee, and everybody else. there is a free online edition somewhere, but I forgot where and can't find the bookmark at the moment, if I even made one. You can find reviews online via a search.

they were the post-exilic nobility, the racial supremacists financed and supported by Cyrus, complete with fake family genealogies they used to generally dis-enfranchise Jews who weren't a part of 'The Club', those that weren't exiled in the surrounding regions. They didn't call themselves 'Sadducee' from the beginning, it gradually evolved into a social class;their beginning roots are explained in Esdra-Nehemiah. Basically, they organized to plunder other Jews and pilgrims from 'out of town' when Cyrus built them a Temple to play in.

lol says the Xian hater who claims Jesus was a Pharisee. I know all about the post-exile histories, so don't pretend you can dispute what I said. In fact, the returnees claimed Cyrus was their Messiah, so of course they loved him for setting them up in plush jobs and political offices.

Poor Rosie; us unwshed goyim aren't supposed to be able to find out what the racial supremacist Jews set up by Cyrus to be his butt boys really were all about.

Your bias concerning the Sadducees is duly noted.
