Who wants us to drive over the fiscal cliff?

Better question: Who put the cliff there?

No one ever asks that question.

This is a crisis that was manufactured by THE SAME PEOPLE WHO ARE FIGHTING ABOUT IT.

This is what happens when we constantly kicking the can down the road.

Now the can is too big to kick any further.

But good ol' Boehner is asking to kick it down the road for another year!

What a fucking asshole!

Look at who got our credit downgraded for the first time in history.

Grover Norquist wants us to shrivel on the vine so he can drown us in the tub

Do you know of any compromises being made by either side?

Here is a better question, and it is one that it seems to be the main issue both sides are hung up on. Do we have a revenue problem or a spending problem?

we have a revenue problem and only the fucking insane partisan hacks think it can all be solved by merely cutting

We have both a revenue problem and a spending problem. We need tax reform and lower spending.

Eliminate all tax expenditures. Ban them permanently.

Raise the Social Security and Medicare eligibility ages to 70.

Reduce defense spending to pre-war levels.

Done!

Easy peasy.

contrary to what you believe it is bamie,, who wants to put off the cutting of the spending for a later date. some shit different day, Congressman Boehner knows the game. Get the spending cuts on the record BEFORE you agree to the tax hikes or you will NEVER get the spending cuts. now go peddle your faux outrage somewhere else.

Who kicked it down the road for the first time in Obama's presidency? The left has demagogued the 'Bush tax cuts for the rich' ever since they've come about. So, let them expire, what's the problem, it's what the left has wanted for years now, right? ;)

well bone a part,, since the revenue you seek will only fund your spending for 8 1/2 days then you have more of a spending problem.. don't ya think? you better cut and cut BIG.

We've been kicking tax reform down the road since the last one in 1986. The tax code was corrupted before the ink was even dry.

We've been kicking a rising debt down the road since Bush II took office. The surplus was being spent before that ink was even dry.

The Bush tax cuts were supposed to expire years ago. For EVERYONE. That expiration was built right into those cuts. Bush and the GOP put them there at the beginning of the millenium. The Republicans have been fighting that expiration ever since. Talk about being schizophrenic!

The payroll tax cuts were passed as an emergency measure. The emergency is passed.

Defense spending was increased to fight the wars. One is over, the other is winding down. It is time to wind down the spending.

Nothing is more totalitarian than the idea that a temporary measure should be continued indefinitely.

Can't rep you again, but THIS ^^^ is a good start!

The numbers dont work you fact adverse fool.

Your one who will have to be kicked to the curb by the republican party if it wants to ever live in reality again

Under the Clinton tax rates we had a booming economy, 25 million jobs created, and a balanced budget.

The idea that putting tax rates back to those exact same levels will doom our economy is ridiculous. The threats to our economy lie elsewhere. You are being seriously misled.

We also had a much smaller budget, including a much smaller Defense budget.

The idea that putting us back to that same balanced budget will somehow cause old and poor people to be dying in the streets is equally ridiculous. You are being seriously misled.

Wakey wakey!
