Save the Republic as designed? Dopey, we have representative government. The make up of congress reflects those who bothered to vote.

Those who belong to no party do NOT get to choose who the primary candidates will be, so before the general election even takes place, most Americans who are eligible to vote hand the responsibilities and duties of being a citizen of a republic to those few who are engaged.
