This is some incredibly eye opening information. Where does your county? Mine is in the top 20 in the country.
I live in one of the dark gold places and their basis for comparison is crap. "Hardest places to live" LOL. Lots of dark green ghettos and my oh so awful life is worse. Please. You can buy a decent sized home in a decent sized neighborhood in my area and your mortgage payment would be a fraction of what people pay for one bedroom apartments in many of those green places. A lot of those dark green people are retiring to my dark gold area because the cost of living is so much lower, including people doing it so they can retire much earlier and still live a better quality of life on reduced payouts here than they could on full retirement there.
