When Impeachment Is NO LONGER A Valid Constitutional Mechanism

Now this idea looks great to me---!!!!

This has been brought up before about Pelosi becoming President and appointing Hillary as her VP then stepping aside making Hillary President.

Hillary Clinton's accomplishments have been centered around health care, the military, and families, especially women and children. The first two affect the economy because health care and defense are the two biggest expenses in the federal budget. The combined costs of Medicare, Medicaid, and military spending are $1.757 trillion or 42 percent of total government spending.

First Lady

1. Hillary chaired the Task Force on Health Care Reform that drafted the 1993 Health Security Act. Although Congress didn't pass it, it laid the groundwork for the Affordable Care Act. It also cleared the way for the Children's Health Insurance Program. She worked with Senators Edward Kennedy and Orrin Hatch who sponsored the bill. It received $24 billion, paid for by a 15-cent tax on cigarettes. She added $1 billion for an outreach program to help states publicize the program and sign up recipients. It provides health care to more than eight million children.

1. In 1994, she championed the Violence Against Women Act. That provides financial and technical assistance to states to help them develop programs that stop domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. In 1995, she also helped create the Department of Justice's Office on Violence Against Women.

2. She supported the 1997 Adoption and Safe Families Act. Representative Nancy Johnson, a Republican, sponsored the bill. It facilitates the adoption of foster children. It also allows states and local agencies greater flexibility on how to spend federal funds.

1. She lobbied Congress for the 1999 Foster Care Independence Act. Senators John Chafee, R-RI, and Tom DeIay, R-TX, sponsored the bill. The Act almost doubled federal spending for programs that help teenagers leave foster care after they turn 18. The programs help them complete their education, find jobs, and become self-sufficient.

U.S. Senator

1. Urged ratification of the START treaty in 2010. The treaty limits the United States and Russia to 1,550 strategic deployed nuclear warheads. That's down from 2,200. It limits the number of deployed heavy nuclear bombers and missiles to 800. That's down from 1,600. Russia was already within those limits, but the United States was not. The treaty went into effect in 2011, will be fully implemented by 2018, and will remain in force until 2028.

2. Introduced the Pediatric Research Equity Act with Senator Mike DeWine, R-OH. This law requires drug companies to research how their products affect children. The Act changed drug labeling to disclose safety and dosage for children. That's lowered the danger of over-dosage for children with chronic diseases like epilepsy and asthma.

1. Worked with fellow New York Democrat, Senator Chuck Schumer, to get $21 billion in federal aid to help New York rebuild after the 9/11 attacks. She wrote the bill to get health care coverage for 9/11 first responders. That included health research related to the attacks. The rescue operations forced many police and firefighters into early retirement with debilitating chronic injuries and illnesses. Her successor, Senator Kirsten Hillibrand, got the bill passed.

2. Worked with Republicans to achieve full military health benefits to National Guard members and reservists. Expanded Family Medical Leave Act to families with wounded veterans.

Secretary of State

1. Took the lead on drafting and negotiating the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement. Once ratified, it would increase U.S. exports by $123.5 billion annually by 2025. Industries that benefit the most include electrical, autos, plastics, and agriculture.

2. Successfully concluded bilateral trade agreements with South Korea, Colombia, and Panama in 2011. The Korea agreement removed almost 80 percent of tariffs and increased exports by $10 billion. The Colombia agreement expanded U.S. exports by $1.1 billion.

1. Negotiated ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in 2012.

3. Pushed the United Nations to impose sanctions on Iran in 2010. That created a recession in Iran. The economy shrank 6.6 percent in 2012 and 1.9 percent in 2013. That's because they cut Iran's oil exports in half. Clinton was personally involved in these diplomatic efforts and pushed them publicly. The sanctions made Iran agree to stop building nuclear weapons in 2015.

1. Instrumental in negotiating the 2009 Copenhagen Climate Change Accord. The developed and major developing nations agreed to limit global temperature increases to 2 degrees Celsius over the pre-industrial level. They also agreed to pay $100 billion a year by 2020 to assist poor countries affected the most by climate change.

What happens when a POTUS goes astray?
There is the potential remedy of 'impeachment' which is a Constitutional mechanism.

Let's suppose a US POTUS campaign conspired with a foreign government adversary/enemy to subvert a US POTUS election, and the ticket won the election.

For the sake of debate let's say this is fact.
How can the POTUS of said winning ticket be replaced by a Vice POTUS from the same winning ticket when said election was subverted via a conspiracy with a foreign government adversary/enemy?

If the 'impeachment' process were to be utilized to replace the POTUS with the Vice POTUS, from the same winning ticket, that would be a farce, because the entire campaign/ticket is suspect & illegitimate.

If we have only the Constitutional mechanism of 'impeachment' to replace a sitting POTUS, then in the above scenario, there would be NO legitimate option to replace an illegitimate POTUS with an illegitimate Vice POTUS.

If the above scenario EVER comes to be, the American republic is in completely uncharted waters.

The ONLY valid option would be to VOID the subverted election.

Voiding the election would not be a Constitutional option so, such a scenario would be the END of our republic.

Have a nice day.
I would think it would come.to the speaker of the house if both press and vice were involved in the shenanigans.

In what universe would you think this would be possible?
Do you think Pence was in the Moscow hotel room too?
Hypothetically

Fucked and sucked Bill Clinton and had his baby. -Next!

I think the speaker of the house could then appoint a president. Or would she just become president?

Ok :)-

  • For the Dumplings:
  • 1 cup flour (4 1/2 ounces)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon shortening
  • 1 tablespoon parsley (minced)
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tablespoons milk

Dumplings
  1. Gather the ingredients

  2. In a bowl, combine the 1 cup of flour, baking powder, poultry seasoning and salt; blend well.

  3. Cut the shortening into flour mixture; add 1 tablespoon minced parsley.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together egg and milk; add to dry mixture and stir with fork until well blended.

  5. Drop dumplings by teaspoonfuls onto chicken pieces. Cover and steam for 10 minutes, or until dumplings are fluffy and done inside.
Wtf? I never added egg to dumplings. Disregard all that website shit.

I use bacon grease, flour, milk, and baking soda.

Don't need no egg, wtf? My dumplings are just fine without egg.

One of the purposes of the Electoral College.

The Electoral College was created when it was a slow process to elect a President. After an election the copulas wanted an e mediate results but it took time to tally the popular vote so the Electoral College was created where a small group, on behalf of the electorate, decided who was the winner.

USA 1016 election

Here are the final numbers:
Clinton received 65,844,610 votes, or 48.2% of the total vote.
.Trump received 62,979,636 votes, or 46.1% of the total vote. (That's a difference of 2.86 million votes.)
http://fusion.kinja.com/here-is-the-final-popular-vote-count-of-the-2016-electi-1793864349

It was the Electoral College that got Trump into the White House, not the U.S. citizens vote.

I think it is time for the Electoral College to be looked at. The general public doesn’t even know what or who they are and yet they decide who will be President regardless of the popular vote.

What do you think?

I am truly sad that some people slept through their classes in high school. There is nothing wrong with it and doesn't need to be looked at by anyone for any reason.

Impeachment is just too onerous even for someone as blatantly corrupt and compromised like Trump.

I disagree, Trump needs to be put in his place. He thinks he is above all others. He has even stated that he is smarter, brighter; above all others. Trump needs to be brought down from his ivory tower and exposed for what/who he is and this is not just for our sake; it is for trump’s sake as well.

The house needs to impeach him; the senate then with a unanimous vocal vote state for all to see and hear---

Trump—YOU ARE FIRED!!!

Once done, maybe Trump will come down off his ivory tower and become a human being just like the rest of us.

One can only hope, for his sake and ours :)-

What grade are you in?

Your theoretical discussion hinges on impeachment & removal. If the VP is also guilty he can be impeached too. Nixon had Agnew as VP, but Agnew had tax evasion problems and resigned. Nixon picked Gerald Ford to replace Agnew as VP. Then Nixon resigned due to Watergate and Ford became an unelected president. Ford picked Rockefeller as VP. So we've seen this movie before. If presidents or VPs get removed or resign, the Senate confirms the replacement. Carter beat Ford, and we haven't had any unelected presidents or VPs since.

Thanks for your reply.
In the example you posted IMO the entire ticket was tainted, even if Agnew knew nothing about the shenanigans of Nixon.
As we all know & as you pointed out Agnew resigned.
So, as far as my example in the OP, the Nixon/Agnew example is a moot point after Nixon resigned, because Agnew was already gone.

You mention the potential to also impeach the VP = "If the VP is also guilty he can be impeached too."

In the scenario I put forth in the OP the entire campaign/ticket would be tainted, if the campaign conspired with a foreign government adversary/enemy. IMO the wining VP candidate would be just as tainted because of being on the same campaign/ticket.

If that scenario were to ever occur, and as you say, the VP could also be impeached, then if that were to occur & the VP convicted & then removed, then who is up for the POTUS & the VP in such a scenario?
