what so bad about socialism

dear, allowing the market to "run its course" is laissez- fair;

100% stupid and liberal. Allowing a currency to deflate when its your job to prevent it is just plain socialist mismanagement. laissez faire refers to private enterprise capitalism.

Moron never took economics yet tries to talk about it. See why we are positive that liberalism is based in ignorance.
it is a distinction between socialism and capitalism for the sake of argument, dear.

now, do you understand why i don't resort to pleading so specially, dear.

it is a distinction between socialism and capitalism.

too stupid you forgot to say what "it" is while it is the subject of your sentence!

See why we say stupid?
you can dear, but that would be a fallacy since you should always argue the point, not the Person,

allowing the market to "run its course" is laissez-fair;

it is a distinction between socialism and capitalism for the sake of argument, dear.

Even though Margaret may have felt this way, the UK is a very success socialistic country, and provides amazing citizen benefits that American could only dream about.
I have amazing benefits. Worked my tail to the bone for 50 years but I have a comfortable life and I earned every penny. I don't get anything from the taxpayers.

I'm sure you did sir, and you sound like someone we should all admire. Even though you had success, we just don't live in a world where everyone succeeds no mater how hard they try. I guess I empathize with the people that work and work, and never make it. I myself am very successful, so I'm not looking to take advantage. We'll always need waiters, cashiers, etc..., I think we just can't ignore them.
Socialism in theory is almost heaven but as long as there are certain humans involved a whole herd of them are fighting to be the big dog. Let Socialism stay in Europe.

That's true sir, there will always be humans fighting to the top. We want that... That's what make capitalism such a successful system. I'm pro Capitalism in private industry, but we need government to regulate the big dogs from abusing the rest of the heard. We already have socialism in this country now. Welfare, unemployment, Medicaid, Police protection, Fire, etc... It's my opinion we need more not less. That's all. I'm guessing you feel we need less.

Please stop.
Unemployment comp - like Social Security - is insurance covered by premiums, Police and fire protection are not socialism nor is our interstate highway system. As for reigning in the big dogs, we have plenty of federal and state regulations. I can only wonder - having seen the carnage wrought by socialism in the 20th Century - why anyone in the 21st Century would still be trying to extol the "virtues" of the "Worker's Paradise," comrade. I suspect those people who have "enjoyed" socialism's "benefits" would beg to differ with you.

Yes, it is; simply having a public sector is a form of socialism and why we have a mixed-market economy.

allowing the market to "run its course" is laissez-fair;
100% stupid as always!! there was no free market in 1929. The Fed had been created 16 years earlier to control the money supply, i.e. to take it away from the free market.

See why we say stupid??

We shouldn't think so little of socialism. It slowly starved to death no more than 120 million souls, and, the liberals who arranged it all were sure in their hearts they were doing the morally superior thing!

the Point and Argument dear; pay attention, please.

We shouldn't think so little of socialism. It slowly starved to death no more than 120 million souls, and, the liberals who arranged it all were sure in their hearts they were doing the morally superior thing!

who could be more deadly than liberals? They are Nazis sure in their hearts that they are doing the right thing!!

dear, socialism is just capitalism, leveraged; everybody loses every once in a while. it is why socialism requires Good management.

You like Socialism then hightail it to one of those socialist Utopias.

You might want to skip over Venezuela, Cuba. but heck just go on to one with full blown communism. China, North Korea. see ya bye

Yeah, it's always funny to listen to socialist supporters. The default seems to be everything country that is socialist, "isn't real socialism", and every country that is capitalist "that's socialism".

The point to countries like Switzerland, which is more capitalist, pro-business, pro-wealthy, than even the US... and scream "Socialism works!"..... while the rest of us are just trying to figure out when these nutters beamed down from the ship.

Always darling. Always. I know how it is with these leftists. They drive you bonkers until you want to smack them.

socialism requires Good management.

but good management slowly starved 120 million to death in Ussr and Red CHina. You would do better supporting Nazism. Do you support Nazism too?
That is like saying Hostess only had problems due to labor, not management; dear. It is not very relevant during political strife. How many empty cities does capitalism have, laying around?

Venezuela's currency is now so worthless that people are using it as napkins
Mike Bird in 10 hours 40

There’s an image going round that sums up just how ridiculous Venezuela’s economy has become.

A Reddit user uploaded a picture on Monday of a man using a 2 bolivar note to hold an empanada.

According to Venezuela’s official bolivar-dollar exchange rate, the man using his money as a napkin is wasting about $US0.31 (£0.20).

But on the black market, the reality is completely different. You can get 676.88 bolivars to the dollar, according to dolartoday.com. That means holding food with a 2 bolivar note costs the holder less than a third of one US cent.

Dolartoday.com’s chart shows just how the value of the bolivar has plunged, with more and more units of the Venezuelan currency required to get hold of a single dollar:

snip:
The country is a major oil exporter, and the plunge in prices is a huge part of what’s causing the crisis — as a result, it’s pegged as having the riskiest debt in the world, with the highest likelihood of an upcoming default. Food is increasingly hard to get hold of, shop shelves are often empty and the country’s social order is deteriorating.

ALL of it here:
