What is the purpose of celebrating Columbus Day?

date much earlier then those found in the west

plus they types of tools are so dissimilar that it is unlikely

they came from the same folks

No. That stormfront-ty nonsense was debunked long ago, and every piece of new evidence only sinks it further.

no it is not

the Smithsonian and Stanford u are not storm front material

stop your lying

and it hasnt been "debunked"

You are so desperate to be white that you ignore the obvious fact that you're wrong. Why continue to make a fool of yourself like this?

Ancient American genome rekindles legal row

Human migration into North America came in three distinct waves from among Beringian peoples and others who later traversed the land bridge.

WTF??! I am so fucking sick of this RACIST shit, white privilege, white this, white that.. STFU already.. Can anyone argue FACTS without throwing the race card out any longer????

Can anyone argue FACTS without throwing the race card

for unkodope that is impossible because that is his only argument

And yet, unlike you, I have brought actual facts. I have provided links to PROOF. Unlike you.

Didn't the vikings find this place first? What is so damn special about Columbus?

That's the day we celebrate the introduction of gonorrhea to Europe. But more importantly, before GPS became widely available, men everywhere celebrated it as the ultimate example of refusing to stop and ask for directions.

just because a peoples vanished from one area

does not "prove" they didnt exist elsewhere

Asians and Native Americans are so similiar. I watched a show where they were all one "tribe" but broke off to be two different groups. One here, the other in asia. And from there...more groups split hither and yon. But their genetics have the same markers..or whatever they are called.

History channel is great when they show good stuff instead of reality fake stuff.

Asians and Native Americans are so similar.

of course no one is saying any different

of course they came here as well

and flourished

"Genetics have long since shown that today’s Native Americans descend from people in north-east Asia. But is is possible that the Clovis culture consisted of people with some other genetic make-up who died out because of a climate dip. To check this, we need genetic evidence from members of the Clovis culture, and this is sadly not a culture that practices much identifiable formal burial.

Now though, thanks to work by Morten Rasmussen and many co-authors published in Nature, we have the full genome of a Clovis person who lived c. 10,600 cal BC in Montana, the north-west US. The diagram above shows this individual’s genetic affinities. The important dots to look for are the black and grey ones. They show that the part of the world where people are farthest genetically from the Clovis culture are southern Europe and the Near East. This happens to include the area of the Solutrean culture. Case closed."

Columbus gets credit for it because he was the first in a chain of explorers who wanted to find a trading route to the indies. We kind of have to celebrate the first of anything for a lot of reasons.
