Someone should figure what is the most efficient makeup of you workforce. Lets say you have a thousand employees at your plant and, of course, you are diversified because if you ain't...well...we know the consequences of that. What percent of each race do you have to have in order to have an efficient workforce? It would be an interesting research project for a statistician and perhaps, when companies learn what that is, they can use that information to have an improved workforce.

Depends on the field, for NBA it's 100% black people, for most jobs it's probably 100% asian.

Both of those numbers have a diversity of 0%.

The most productive size group is 3 to 8 people.

AT that point diversity doesn't matter
 
It depends on the company, its goals, its target market.

Diversity is good business because you want to be able to communicate your marketing message, products and services to a wide range of people, and diversity is one obvious way of structuring your business, your internal culture, to do so. It's one element in a big picture.

As long as a business isn't forcing diversity for the sake of diversity and above overall quality, it's fine. The NBA is a perfect example of that.

Having managed for over thirty years there is no magic. And talent in sports is not the same as the workplace. Sport is a game it requires lots of things but they are simple things and are focused on a few hours not 24by7 workplaces. Getting people to cooperate and use their various and diverse skills is a very different thing. And while Asians are hard workers they tend to remain isolated in certain areas and often live by values and ideas different from WASPs. Just saying...

What's "most qualified "? You act like it's an an easy objective thing . Is the bosses son "most qualified" ?

Do people get hired strictly on resume .

Diversity is a bullshit concept. Two guys who went to the same high school, played on the same sports teams, lived across from each other, had the same friends somehow represent different viewpoints because one is white and one black? That's bullshit.
Here's an idea: Hire the very best people you can at competitive salaries. If you end up with 90%blacks, so what? 85% Asians? So what? 95% White? So what?
We sacrifice excellence for diversity and get nothing back.

So we have segregaed schools today? I think not. Both my kids went to public schools and had plenty of black classmates. Those same black classmates get diversity preference soley because of their skin tone.

it was figured out, but dems shot it down b/c they want to keep blacks in the shittiest schools so they have to rely on them to get jobs as adults.

I've noticed that to but what some people might think of as 'isolation' maybe just focusing on your job at work. It seems like people treat work as a place to socialize as well as earn a paycheck. I tend to be one who prefers isolation because it is kind of fake to pretend that you like your co-workers when you really don't.
