We're building a dystopia just to make people click on ads

Bmarked.

I use no social media save this site, and I don't click on ads. I go only to those sites I have sought out, and delete without reading any unrecognized email that makes it into any of my accounts, all of which were created under pseudonyms. If an account gets too annoying, I abandon it.

Nothing is safe, but you don't have to help them.

The solution is simple: Don't click on the ads. Also, use adblocking software. If a site won't allow you on it because you have ads blocked, then that's a site you don't need to be at.

Yes, both of those help. I use Brave with all of the protections for my browser, and DuckDuckGo for searching. But that isn't enough. The BigSurveyors buy up data from other online and offline sources. The problem is their business models are legally allowed to spy on people and sell data about them without the subjects's permission.
