Well, yes. Every left wing media outlet is saying it was the "most powerful hurricane EVER!!"

I wonder why there is such a concerted effort to repeat this over and over again. Especially since it is impossible to know, and the hurricane was NOT the most powerful hurricane ever to hit North America.

Of course, many of those same fucking outlets never mention it is the first hurricane to hit North America that is a cat 3 or stronger since 2005. This is 2015 right? That is 10 years. That, is the longest period of time since they have been recording wind speeds and barometric pressure.

Yes, this is a political issue.

Stupid asshats on the left are so fucking gullible. No wonder they are considered to be such useful idiots for the liars.
Wow. Really trying hard to inject politics into something apolitical, aren't we?

Shouldn't be hard to check the wind speeds of all the major hurricanes to hit North and Central America in the last hundred years or so. There aren't THAT many. They've all been carefully measured and cataloged. Whoever has the highest sustained wind speeds is the winner.

--------------------------------------

Political hook, for those who insist: The majority of hurricanes that have hit North and Central America, have been moving relentlessly to the LEFT as seen on the most common maps. And they have done by far the most damage.

Happy now? :2up:

Not one pic on the TV......was all set for 24 hr Katrina coverage and nothing........was it even a hrricane when it made landfall
Lol are you denying it happened at all?

Not at all.......just was wondering what the hell happened.......get this huge buildup and then radio silence
I don't think much happened. After landfall the hurricane quickly lost its strength. Now the worry is flooding but that's much more managable than hurricane force winds. It was also moving very fast so it didn't hover over any area particularly long.

The flooding and landslides could be significant.

It's making for an interesting final practice session for the US F1 race in Austin. They are probably going to be using this as qualifying as the rain is getting worse so qualifying this afternoon may not happen. Pretty cool.

The mainstream media covers things huge when one of these hits a major population center or three. When one hits the U.S., it's hard to miss a big city, hurricanes being as big as they are.

But there are no major population centers where this one hit, just a couple of small resort towns, a shipping town, and a lot of jungle.

And this one sprang up out of nowhere, going from a small storm to a Cat 5 hurricane in just one day, and then vanished as quickly after it hit land. Still a lot of rain, but the high winds are gone.

Maybe there was never a hurricane at all until white people came here with a Bible and a musket.

Well, the left think the white Europeans showed up to Africa with nets and they also believe the natives that lived here were nothing but peace loving peyote smoking maze planters who never had wars over anything.

So, it is only logical to assume that the morons on the left believe a hurricane never happened until white people showed up here.

Wait, maybe they believe a hurricane never occurred until the combustion engine was invented.

Hell, I will bet they some how believe republicans (the Bush family) invented a time machine and went back in time to kill all of the dinosaurs to make oil.

Do we have any clue how utterly moronic the left wing voting base is? No one knows it better than democrat politicians.

Cant find any coverage on it anywhere.........odd for such "big" event

To the left wing dismay, it did not hit a populated city. DAMN!!!!

So, now they will focus on the mass flooding in Texas.

DAMN!!!! Says the democrats.
If the Tejas weather over the next few days are only half as bad as the forcasts have been, I wonder how long it will be for those sturdy, self-reliant, independent, tea bagging Texicans to declare a disaster, and have their money grubbing hands out to the Federal for relief funds and FEMA assistance for their infrastructure AGAIN?

Oh, you are one those lying piece of shit gullible asshats who claim conservatives think there is no need for the federal government.

You dumb fucking liar.

I think is funny who you have no clue how stupid you are to your democrat politicians.

I believe Joaquin probably did much greater wind damage to the Bahamas, than Patricia did to Mexico. Time will tell.

Definitely making it interesting, to say the least!
Hamilton fastest in very wet FP3 - AUTOSPORT

With rivers running across the track and puddles forming in places, the teams were informed by race control that intermediates were could not be used.

Nico Rosberg was among the first drivers to get caught out by the conditions, spinning at Turn 3 and tapping the barrier, which broke his front wing.

His Mercedes team-mate Hamilton also had a moment, catching the rear-end as it stepped out at Turn 13 before continuing.

However, the reigning world champion managed to get a flying lap in shortly before conditions started to worsen, moving himself to the top of the order.

Sebastian Vettel had a messy session, spinning first at Turn 19 and then Turn 9 and then complaining about aquaplaning as conditions worsened in the final half of the session.

The Ferrari driver did manage to set the second fastest time of the session though, ahead of Nico Hulkenberg, Valtteri Bottas and Carlos Sainz Jr.

No major population centers where this one hit?
Manzanillo has a population of 110,000 people
Puerto Vallarta has a population of 200,000 people (not including tourists)
Guadalajara has population of 1.5 million people
Tepic has population of 332,000 people

She skirted between these 2 cities. Her hurricane force winds only extended 30 miles from center. The airports in both cities have already resumed operations.

Well -- let's look at the "damage" coverage you got there.

1) Hysterical Warning -- with inaccurate claims..
2) 8 seconds and ONE still photo from the Weather Channel who then does 2.5 minutes on Texas.
3) Something about Texas again...

The storm disappointed them. Thought for SURE this message from Gaia was gonna punish all those climate change denier.. So -- they are ignoring it.

Amazing, that. ;)

strongest hurricaines ever recorded - Bing

Plays into my point....you have to go searching for the story........

Actually I was watching coverage on it just a few minutes ago and have seen coverage on it the last several days. Maybe they did more coverage here since we were in its path some areas have already gotten almost 2 feet of rain.

There's a chart in the WSJournal link that appears in your list that ranks the Top 10 Western Hemi hurricanes.
Tellingly --- 4 in the top 10 were before the mid-60s. And only about 25mph below Patricia. IN FACT --- TWO of those are listed "unnamed"..

So all of this hype about "EVER" is just that. We didn't have satellites, we didn't aggressively fly P3 Orion planes thru the eyewalls, and we CERTAINLY didn't observed these storms in any way that compares to what we do now.

Even WITH a P3 flight -- which is the ONLY accurate way to measure strength -- that's one or maybe 2 observations a day. And you're gonna miss enough that Morons shouldn't confidentally be shouting that's "it's the strongest EVER".. That's not thorough or scientific. The better slogan would be "Likely to be" .

If you notice all the outlets are qualifying their statements with the strongest recorded in the western hemisphere.
